Ok /k/, I am picking up a Walther PP .32ACP in a few days. Being as I am on a limited budget and I just received my CCW permit today I intend to carry this Walther PP until I can afford a better carry piece.
My question is what are some good choices for .32 ACP defensive loads? Also, who makes a holster that will fit a Walther PP well?

Can't really comment on .32acp as my Walther is .380 but after a quick google search I'd probably get Hornady XTP or Federal Hydro-Shok. I love my Walther though it has such a nice weight in the hand and just feels great all around. The quality is great on mine I really like it but I carry a Shield 9mm this is just part of my collection. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours and just get a nice hollow point from a reputable brand and call it a day or do some googling if you are super paranoid about your carry round but I'd trust most reputable brands of hollow points. Obviously you're gonna have a few comments here probably saying it won't do shit because it's not a .45 or 10mm, enjoy your Walther bud.
>>
>>34803024
how the fuck are you getting a .32 PP on a "limited budget"? but any makarov holster is actually pretty good for PPs/PPks
>>
>>34803024
>budget

WTF are you doing, dude? Buy an LCP or some shit, don't CC milsurp.
>>
>>34803632
It was only $285 before tax and transfer at my LGS.
>>
>>34803024
>limited budget
>buys expensive-ass pistol chambered in an anemic cartridge instead of something practical and affordable

Nigger you could be dual-wielding makarovs right now.
>>
>>34803712

I will suck your dick and pay you $350 to get that gun off you
>>
>>34803683
Cool thanks. The way I see it is as long as I'm not trying to use meme tier RIP, a reputable brand is fine. I just wasn't sure which brands perform better in .32ACP.
>>
>>34803712
Most pocket guns will go for around that much at most.

And if you're looking for something bigger you could have gotten a S&W for just a bit more than that
>>
>>34803712
Wtf? Really? Damn son.

Is it in shit condition or something? That's at least a 650 dollar gun usually.
>>
>>34803729
>thinks we still live in the time of $150 Mak's
Also 9x18Mak is basically .380 without many defensive load options.
>>
>>34803769
Where the fuck do you see a walther pp for 300 dollars. All the ones in my area are like 700 bucks
>>
>>34803750
Nah, the LGS is a primarily "tacticool" shop and the guy didn't really know the value and didn't think it would sell so he marked it low.
>>
>>34803769
There's plenty of companies that make defense loads for 9x18.
>>
>>34803743
Anon you bought a collector's item in an ineffective caliber for self defense. Sell it for twice what you bought it for or save up for a $200 lcp or $300 sw shield.
>>
>>34803796
His point is that the options for 9x18 aren't nearly as numerous as .380.
>>
>>34803743
Haha, yeah I don't get too caught up in the arguments these days. I like Federal HST in my Shield 9 and in general Federal seems to perform well in tests so I find them as a reliable company to trust for carry ammo. Hornady as well, my dad and grandfather both carry Critical Defense. I'd personally go for one of either of their offerings but like I said most reputable companies these days are probably quite good. If you end up actually using your gun in a self defense situation I doubt you're going to be saying
>FUCK WHY DIDN'T I GO FOR xxxxx BRAND!!!!????
>>
>>34803831
I plan on keeping it regardless, once I can afford a better option the Walther is being relegated to range toy/collectible. I just plan on using it until I can afford a better option.
>>
>>34803899
>Walther pic guy here

Good choice, carry it for now if you must but I just keep my walther in my collection. I love my Shield 9 and a friend has an LCP as well that is insanely small, great pocket gun. LCP's can be had for around $200 and Shields are just a tad more plus the rebates recently. I love the Walther but it's just more of a cool gun to have for me than something I'd carry, I view my CCW as more of a utility gun rather than eye candy or something "cool". Enjoy your new gun though I'm sure it will be a lot of fun and they are pretty damn cool!
>>
>>34803960
Thanks friend.
>>
If that is all you have it will be fine. Stock to to FMJ or the new cavitator thing if it feeds well.

I do not like JHP typically when using calibers less powerful than 9x19.

Also, fwiw I carry my tweaked p64 more than my lcp or shield. Nothing wrong with milsurp if you're good with it. Skill, not gear.

Because no one has actually answered the question, I will.

In .32 ACP the only round I've ever seen consistently pass the FBI penetration standards is the Xtreme Cavitator by Lehigh Defense. Its 50 gr. and has one of their goofy ass bullet heads to increase penetration and makes a larger wound channel than a conventional roundnose. It penetrates like 13-15" regularly.
>>
>>34803024
Are you the guy who got the $310.49 PPK?
>>
>>34805904
Buffalo bore makes a hardcast 32ACP +P. I can't imagine that wouldn't work just as well.
>>
>>34803769
Who needs 50 defensive loading when there is one that works great. I shoot 9mm but I don't stock Rangers, HSTs,gold dots, critical duty, hydrashoks, golden sabres and PDX-1
>>
>>34803712
sell it to>>34803734
and buy a walther pps instead
>>
>its another thread where people pretend .32 and .22 and other small ones don't hurt
I love this meme
>>
>>34806676
Walther PP, not a PPK/S.
