lets all agree this gun looks fucking awesome

what the heck is this combo of M1 carbine and MP40?
This thread is about WW2 Hungarian aesthetics.
Or at least, now it is.
Hell yes!
Also, the Cristobal Carbine, which was basically a redesigned Danuvia from the Dominican Republic.
Ian mentioned this one in a FAMAS video I think it was, because these were one of the few lever-delayed guns apart from FAMAS.
There needs to be more lever delayed guns. We need to create a lever delayed Luty SMG.

It's basically a beefy SMG, it's got a long barrel and a 40rd magazine, It could also have it's magazine well folded into the handguard for storage.
Chambered for one of the stouter Mauser pistol cartridges, the 9x25mm, the idea was more range, more penetration, more firepower, it was basically the 7.63x25mm Mauser necked up to 9mm, think almost like a rimless .38 Super, moving a 156gr bullet at about 1500fps (I've also seen some mention of 200gr bullets).
It's ugly, but it was generally pretty well liked by it's users for the firepower and range it offered over other subguns of the times, and I think it's what gave the Hungarians their love for souped up subgun loads, they would later issue a fairly hot loaded 7.62x25mm Tokarev exclusively for subguns
(they didn't use the caliber for pistols, and this Hungarian ammo has been known for destroying the rather fragile Czech CZ52 pistol on occasion).
It almost sort of bridges the gap between a subgun and an assault rifle, if that makes any sense, similar to the US M1 and M2 Carbines

I think lever-delayed blowback can be pretty good for subguns, light carbines and small rifles, but I'm kind of hesitant towards it for intermediate and full sized rifle cartridges, it seems gas operation generally works best for those.
At least I figure there should be some kind of recoil buffer, like on the FAMAS.

Pussy-ass weakling Czech gun. Can't handle stronk Magyar ammunition.
Turan tank. Czechnology and Magyar magic meets and forms an undergunned, but reliable tank with good mobility.

It's more that the CZ52 wasn't a particularly sound design, then was converted from 9mm Luger to 7.62mm Tokarev, and maybe not in the best way. A CZ75 converted for 7.62mm I think would probably work just fine, even with Hungarian subgun ammo.
Czechs generally do pretty good pistols but I guess they've got to fuck up at some point.
I'm a tank.
Clankity-clank.
I'm coming for your flank.
It looks like a Mp40 fucked an M1 carbine and then had this 9 months later

Man, there really isn't anything that amazing about the San Cristobal Carbine, but for some reason I really wish I had one.
I wonder how reliable it is.

>tfw no Zagi love
>tfw no Kucher K1 to shoot.
>MFW Hungarians are proud of their pancake tanks
Turan II's would have been effective if they were deployed around 1941.

pretty much

Magyars don't make bad guns. Prove me wrong.

Hungarian here.
It is true. By 1941 standards, the Turán was a good tank, but by the time we could field an adequate number of them a technological leap took place and the Turán suddenly found itself obsolete in a world of Panthers and T-34/85's.
The Zrínyi assault howitzer was a different story however. Don't let it's seemingly obsolete look and riveted armour fool you, it was a very effective weapon.
