>The gun is always loaded even when you know it isn't! You need to treat yourself like a newborn with downs in order to own a firearm!!
What the fuck is with this retarded shit
A car can kill people but I don't put an orange flag in the ignition after I park it to make sure it doesn't start itself and run over someone.
>>
Chamber flags are mainly for ranges, so that the range masters can know at a glance that your weapon cannot currently fire. My range just used brightly colored zip ties though, as part of the rules for ceasefire was all actions open and empty.
>>
Chamber flags are there to make OTHER people safe, not having to worry that a boot will ND into someone elses thigh.

When I teach people how to shoot I use it as a teaching tool so people don't muzzle sweep or do anything retarded.
It's a good habit to get into to treat the gun with respect and be an adult. There, enjoy your (you), OP.
>>
>>34793708
>>34793737
How do you know that chamber flag isn't actually a real cartridge painted in orange? No, no, no, you still should treat this gun as loaded even after you and three other people confirmed it's empty.

can someone explain to me why would they add brass base to this flag?
>>
>>34793708

It's to keep normal people at ranges safe from overconfident armchair operator retards like OP that are basically guaranteed to ND into something and spill all their spaghetti as they're getting banned from the range.
Then they go to /k/ and start a shit thread like this.
>>
>>34793708
I use flags only on guns that don't have way of holding action open and on all when I put them in safe.
>>
>cutting corners on teaching gun safety to people who you have no control over
>when you might be shooting with this person
>not practicing what you preach one of the only time it will always matter, when guns are involved

So do you have a better way of making sure handing a gun to someone who may not respect what you say as law, or even superior to their own personal opinion, works out every time? For whatever your attempting to teach them? I don't know about you but I never figured out the whole mind control thing. It's easy to make shit up on the internet, but can you honestly not recall any instance during your life where you cut corners, and while it turned out ok, you still probably shouldn't have done that in the first place? It's like that. And the thing about that is while that might be ok to one degree or another if you're making fast food or wiping your ass, when guns and other people that you have no control over are involved, and they know and respect guns less than you, cutting corners is a pretty fucking stupid thing to do. Kind of like responding to bait on /k/ at 4 in the morning.

Do you want to get shot? "Hey dude don't blink! :DD" That's all it takes. You can't unfuck a hole in your balls. You can, however, take measures to decrease the likelihood of a hole being shot through your balls. This is accomplished by not being retarded, and not letting people in your immediate vicinity with access to firearms be retarded.
>>
>>34793843
not only that, buy why emulate the rim of the cartridge? The extractor probably isn't going to grab it, it's just going to put unnecessary pressure on it.
>>
>>34793708
You don't understand. The point of gun safety is to develop good HABITS. Habits, by definition, should be automatic. You shouldn't have to think about it. You should ALWAYS follow basic safety rules, no matter what.

>The extractor probably isn't going to grab it
That's where you're wrong. The rin is engaged by the extractor. It's so it can be carried on top of a loaded mag- flag in chamber, full mag, and when you want to fire you rack the slide. Flag gets extracted and ejected, gun acts normally.
Also used by Israel on service M16s.

"always assume the gun is loaded"
People change the wording to be more absolute because dumbasses want to ignore or bend the rules.

There are
-people who understand the rules
-people who follow the rules but don't understand (what you're complaining about)
-people who think they know the rules well enough to ignore them
-people who ignore the rules because they're braindead
-people who don't know the rules at all

You need to understand the rules, not just follow them

>>
Ok, let me explain in simplets words:

The firearm safety rules have multiple redundancies. That means it should be enough to follow jut the ones that are relevant in any given situation. And for 80% normal people this would be enough to avoid serious accidents.

The problem are idiots.

You see, about 10%-20% of population are fucking retard nutscaks. That includes gun owners.

Now, 99% of said moronic dipshits dont realise they are being idiots.

A unless you actually know the person, there is no way to differentiate between dumbfuck and normal person at first glance.

Normal person can be reasonably expected to know which safety rules should be enough in any given situation.

But since you cannot tell if the faggot muzzle sweeping your balls is a normal person with safe and unloaded firearm or a retard with loaded one thats about to shoot you in the dick, the only reasonable option is to assume everyone (including yourself ) is retard .

Therefore you drill it into them untill they bleed from the ears. Because there is one-in-five chance that either you or the other guy are retard lacking the common sense to reasonably assess the situation and not do something stupid.

So its better to force everyone follow all the rules all the time, even it they are redundant. Becasue said redundancy means that even if the retard breaks one of them, others will prevent a massive fuckup form happening.

Otherwise you end with dumbfuck mallninjas like OP that will most likely end up NDing sooner or later . And we can only hope that they ND themselves in the balls, instead of shooting their own daughters.
>>
>>34796256
You get an A+ for effort, but retarded autistic anons like op will just TLDR and continue to finger fuck their possibly loaded guns
>>
>>34795022

>>
>>34794611

>There are
>-people who understand the rules (and follow them)
These people will never suffer ND
>-people who follow the rules but don't understand (what you're complaining about)
These people will never suffer ND (and this is the important part. Even a braindead idiot with down's syndrome is safe as long as he follows them. He does not have to understand them)
>-people who think they know the rules well enough to ignore them
These people will unlikely to suffer ND if they are right, and very likely to suffer ND if they are wrong. And they are usually wrong.
>-people who ignore the rules because they're braindead
extremely likely to shot themselves or someone else by accident and should not be allowed near guns at all.
>-people who don't know the rules at all
40/60 chance. Rules are basically common sense, and reasonable person might err on the side of safety rather than carelessness.

>>

It's a rule of thumb meant for the masses, because there are a large number of newborns with Down's in the US. If you're smarter and have a little more presence of mind, you can ignore the "a gun is always loaded" rule when you know that it in fact isn't.
>>
>>34795549
In our training they were attached by a wire to the front sites so they didn't fall on the ground and get shitty.

What capture the flag faggotry are you going for even with out this knowledge?
>>
>>34796738
The whole point of "always loaded" is to treat it that way until you know it's not by dropping or emptying the magazine and clearing the chamber.

You're right though, this is too ambiguous for autists thus we get posts like OP

I don't know about fun, for me it's just automatic. I don't even think about it, it's like complaining about how walking and breathing at the same time is stressful and complicated.
But I guess I understand where they're coming from. The learning period when you have to think about doing everything at the same time while in traffic is pretty intense, and I understand wanting one less thing to pay (even a little) attention to when you're riding a quick steel death machine on wheels through a city of soft, squishy meatbags both on foot and driving similar death machines.
