Followup from last thread
Looking for a pc that can hold balcs cut soft armor and plates at the same time. Im really digging towards the Mar Ciras but its 600 from Eagle since cant find a large coyote better than that price. Another anon said crye cage but afaik it can't take balcs cut. Additionally I might just go and buy the issue gear I had. Not cozy whatsoever but it has what I want.

How does running 1 nvg compare to running dual?
>>
>>34793240
Its just what Im used to/what I trained with while I was in.
Not necessarily balcs but a PC with soft armor backing.
I get everyone now a days runs light setups, tiny plate carriers with only front plates etc, but if Im already conditioned to use a heavy ass load that indubitably adds more protection, why not, right?

So would a plate carrier with ceramics and soft armor inserts be something you're after?

do you want kevlar protection on your sides?

I'm having a hard time grasping what you're after because you can buy any PC and throw in soft armor inserts with or without ceramics

Anyone know of a good shot timer that works with suppressed super sonic 5.56?
I want to shoot suppressed super sonic 5.56 so I can train in the NF without pissing off cabin cucks and mountain folk that simply live around the forest, but I also want to drill. Seems like the Pocket Pro II is the best timer as compared to the CED7000 and the Pact Club, but I'm hearing that it doesn't work consistently with suppressed weapons. No one though is specify which suppressed weapons it does or does not work with.

Any experience?

Also anyone got a small pouch recommendation that is at least 2.5 inches wide and 6.5" tall? Ideally attaches by Fight Light Malice clips or the whisper ones.
>>
>>34793395
whatever garand thumb uses must work

also, suppressed 5.56 is still loud as fuck....its just hearing safe at some points

Yeah.
Im just curious to see if theyre any plate carriers similar to the MAR CIRAS that are a little more modern.
Side plates not required but would be nice.
I dont mean to come off as a spoonfed type but google hasnt done shit and I really dont want to use the issued shit.
I'm going to hopefully get all of my plates from High Com.

LAPG STS pants. They're decent poorfag pants. Surprisingly breathable considering that they are decently water resistant. Decently durable. Stretch panels, well thought out pockets, integrated knee pad pockets. I've hiked in then a decent bit this summer, easily 30 miles. Several drill days, working on the car. They're solid. They definitely are made in china budget garments. No real garment craftsmanship or quality.

>>
>>34793467
It's all good my guy. If you only know one thing then that's all you know. So try and Google "releasable plate carrier" real quick and see if anything pings your noodle. The MAR CIRAS is releasable and that's why I suggest that. Some of those carriers may fit what you're after
>>
>>34793539
It's not a controlled device my guy. Atf just told the people who make them not to sell to civvies or they'd make their life hell. Perfectly legal to own and use.
>>
>>34793467
Its hard to find good plate carriers that allow for BALCs and plates, its either one or the other. Those inbewteen just allow for plate shaped soft armor backers. However, right now my friend uses a velocity systems operators assault vest. I'd suggest you give that a try. If all else fails, go CIRAS. Price difference between the two isn't that great. OpTactical has it on sale.

These are fantastic questions I would love to be able to answer, but I simply cannot say. If I were to hazard a guess I'm sure you could fill a spent smoke with something heavy to make up any lost weight, and I also would guess that you can reset the spoon and pin.

I've got a couple of the airsoft ones to train with. Obviously different though without the spoon.

>>34793539
100% legal to own, use, and sell existing ones among civvies, but there are simply no more new production ones coming into civilian hands as the ATF prohibited manufacturers from selling new produced ones to civilians.

I'm no expert on soft armor but I do know a lot of modern carriers have options for MBAV-cut soft armor. Examples include: Crye AVS (with MBAV plate bags), Mayflower MBAV-APC, First Spear Strandhogg MBAV Cut, Eagle MBAV (duh), Eagle Aero, etc.
MBAV cut armor obviously doesn't have the same coverage as BALCS but you can take a look for yourself and decide how you want to balance bulk and coverage.

>>34793676
Adding on to what this anon said. First Spear also makes these updated versions of the Siege that take BALCS armor.

>>34795163
can't get taller and i allready have a shoulder-to-waist circumference difference of 1,6.
>>
>>34795403

That's what tailors do. The apparel consists of multiple shapes of cloth, sewn together. The tailor takes your measurements, opens up the stitches and sews it so it fits you perfectly. Please read up on clothing, it needs to be tailored to look good. That's how all the photo models (for tacticool shit) get that look, the clothing fits their body. If you just buy that shit it won't look good on you unless you are lucky that it fits you just right. But almost every person needs to have their clothing tailored to achieve perfect look.
>>
>>34795432
sure but that would cost closer to 100 bucks or more than 20.

>>
>>34795441

Nope. Tailoring is pretty cheap, compared to buying new stuff. A jacket is barely more than a shirt. Lot's of Asians and Arabs are tailors and are not expensive at all. It's literally just restitching it so it fits your body shape better.

What does /gq/ think about Team Wendy's Exfil LTPs? They're about $260 in my area. Are they of comparable quality to Ops-Core BUMP helmets? Are they worth the buxx? I'd use them mainly to protect my head during CQC training, mounting a headset, flashlight and maybe a PVS-14 with a counterweight on it. Planning to buy a stock one and just use it with the standard CamFit system. I was issued a modded, cut up PASGT - will the change be worth $260?

Well, they did happen to host Hillary for a gun control speech during the election...

That aside, they are known to be very comfy, stable and the embedded metal wilcox shroud is certainly nicer than the molded shroud on an Ops Core fast bump.

The downside would be that they use a proprietary rail, so you have to use TW specific mounts for it, when SOCOM & the industry has pretty much standardized on Ops Core ARC for a while now.

They are good helmets, the politics that popped up kinda suck, but they are generally regarded as very good. Though again, Ops Core is the standard and very plug & play.

How have the tubes held up for you?
>>
>>34799310

>>
>>34799310
Ah ok, so I'm guessing the carbons & ballistics are out of your price range then. Other than the proprietary concerns, no, there isn't anything to worry about as far as build quality or durability.

DESU though, if everything "local" is mostly Ops Core, I would honestly save for one if you can. Having easy to source parts is great & when using NODS, the added rigidity of something like a ballistic is noticeable. I went from an ops core bump to a maritime and it's night & day how stable the helmet is. The polymer helmets will have some flex & give, which is both good for long hours in them, but kind of sucks when having something cantilevered off your face.

Other than that, before the whole hiliary debacle, the consensus on TW vs. OP was.... flip a coin, either way you'll be fine & have a great helmet.

Wall of text incoming.
Neither system is logistically based in Poland. Just as I've said, we're being issued old, cut up PASGTs with no rails or NOD mounts (and we're basically polish Rangers, mind you!). Most of the guys in my unit use these and only a handful bought FAST-C helmets which are basically Saudi copies of the Ops-Core high cut albeit with a different rail standard (wider than Ops-Core).
I could probably buy a Carbon, or even a Ballistic but what I'm going to use them for is still training as we are going to be pretty much forced by our CO to use modded wz. 2010 (polish LWH equivalent) helmets during actual combat operations. That might change if our defense minister (who's also a retard and disliked by a lot of polish soldiers) makes the cogs of the bureaucratic machine turn and have looser regulations for combat ops put in place, but nobody is sure when will he do it, or even if he'll do it at all. That's why I don't want to spend a lot of cash on this helmet - if the regulations change and we'll be able to use our own ballistic protection, I'll buy a ballistic and most of my unit will too, but just as I've said it's not guaranteed.
>>
>>34799572

BUIS are for rifles with battery powered optics.

Propper brand BDUs are literally better quality than my old issued ACUs.

20rd mag gets loaded with different ammo than the 30 rounders, and even so, 20 rounders are nicer, especially for working in the prone.

Anyone know if the Eagle MARCIRAS has been discontinued? Ebay has them used and new and theres a good one or two sites that still carry em but everywhere else says its discontinued. Nothing new about pic other than the plate carrier now has armor in it.

Level IV standalone SAPI cut (small) from Chase Tactical. For both was around $400 shipped with their 20% off sale last week.

Currently waiting on Esstac DST to go on belt and replace BFG Trauma Kit Now! for me personally it was way too big -- along with a single AR kywi to go with BFG 10 speed pistol mag carrier.

I have an old Camelbak Thermobak, but it is really long and doesn't sit flush on carrier. As such, I figure I will go with Source in a Crye GP pouch, or just keep it slick so I can wear it in my truck and if I would be out for awhile wear a pack (with hydration) much easier.

Only future changes may be the 10speed M4 shingle and perhaps the pistol mag 10speeds too, but fine for now.

Hoping to buy Razor 1-6 and Saker 556k by the end of the year.

do ceramic plates break if you drop them or is that a meme?
>>
>>34806175
Theyre fragile so I wouldnt do it out of spite but dont let that get past the sturdy manufacturing process and design evolutions compared to the previous gens.
>>
>>34806175
even a cracked sapi/easpi will still work. They are multi hit rated meaning when they are shot once, they still stop more rounds after. When a plate is shot it has FUCK TONS of cracks, and it still works after being shot. Try not to drop plates though, and if they don't already have a layer of foam over the ceramic strikeface perhaps you should cut out some dense closed cell foam and use gaffing tape to secure it to the front of the plate for added durability. You can also do the twist and or tapping test to listen for cracks.

just buy a surplus iba or iotv.
>>
>>34806209
fuck no,
those things distribute load horribly, in addition to only being available in multimeme or ugly camo pattern
>>
>>34806223
I hear that from time to time from people but I've worn them a fair amount and once I get them adjusted properly I don't have any problems with load distribution.
>>
>>34806234
Well how does it hold up quality wise?
I might get that or an IMTV then.
>>
>>34806266
You want to get yourself a gen II iotv, they are made of 1000d cordura I believe, while the gen I is 500 but they are pretty durable. Get one WITH soft inserts though because they are hard to find they are made specifically for that iotv carrier and carrier size. nothing else will fit right except iotv soft inserts for an iotv, also only size large plates fit in a large iotv, medium in medium etc.
>>
>>34806234
kdh only offers gen 3. Im gonna call em up and see if I can order one.
>>
>>34806317
I would just look on ebay and or armslist you can get them usually for $150 to $200 in size med/large/xl. Just read the manual for the iotv to make yourself familiar with the parts so you make sure everything you need in included like the cummerbund and the side plate pouches. If KDH lets you buy one it'll be around 1000 dollars. Many vets are let with this stuff after they get out and they don't want it. You'll save money and help out our service members.
>>
>>34806323
when looking on armslist just search IOTV, on ebay you'll find them by searching for acu or multicam plate carrier or body armor and look for both new and used. More often they will be listed as used rather than new. Acu will be cheaper than multicam in most instances.
>>
>>34806332
Well gotta pay the premium so I dont look like shit.
>>
>>34806344
acu isn't that bad, and you can cover it with a good chestrig/etc.
>>
>>34806346
A bunch of them are multicam and come with the softarmor but size medium. The one that is size large jumps up three hundred in price. I see an Imtv that comes with the inserts but its an auction so I might wait that out.
>>
>>34806374

In Norway you have to ask permission for each individual gun and it's totally up to the discretion of the gun-hating police to allow or disallow your request, and you have to be a member in good standing of a shooting club (which are full of douchebags who will give you the boot for any reason they want) to own guns at all.

Sorry for responding late.

You are correct on both counts. I am a hunter and a sports shooter (IPSC). To get an AR15 you need to shoot pistol IPSC for 2 years and maintain a certain level of activity during that time.

I probably could have gotten mine sooner, but I have been busy with other aspects (PRS long range shooting among other things).

For now it serves its purpose.
>>
>>34810653

Oh, and I should add that owning a Mini-14 allows me to compete in IPSC rifle competitions even though I don't have an AR15 or AK-variant rifle.

So I get to join in on the fun, although I don't have any hopes of ending up in the top tier along with the other pros (their stuff weighs like half of what mine does for starters, and the accuracy of my Mini-14 is about 1-2 MoA at best).

It might be a better method, I haven't had to worry about it in a while. It seems to change over time. People started out using MS paint to make black boxes, but that's easily beat, there was the spiral effect, but some pedo used it, and a lot of work went into cracking that one. I thought that semi pixelated one wasn't safe anymore either, but I could be wrong.

I've been alright. Fully recovered from the eye surgery which is good. Didn't really affect my shot so that's cool. I've been dealing with some severe depression from all the health shit I've been dealing with the past year plus I got dumped and even 8 months later I'm not over it. Shit sucks.
