Why didn't/hasn't this become a thing?
>Squad level logistical vehicle
>Platoon level logistical vehicle
>reduce fighting loads of infantry
>allow small units to be more independent
>lesser strain on logistical supply lines
>squad/platoon level fighting vehicle
>MMG, HMG, ATGM, Surveillance equipment, Command and Control equipment
Seriously, why haven't these fuckers become a thing?
Another one that is more inclined to make things go boom rather than carry shit
Does the same role as a humvee or mrap, and you can ride inside those.
And another one, with legs. Because fuck wheels
They could tip over more easily than a Human operator with a bit more control. It really will depend on how well it handles rougher terrain to become a thing I think.

limited space. Also, you can design these fuckers to give an entire platoon the ability to last 3-4 days in the field with zero care for re-supply and none of them would have to carry shit except there basic fighting loads. Humvees would allow you to sling your ruck on the side or in the trunk, but it wouldn't let you store dozens of MREs, thousands of rounds of 5.56 and 7.62 along with all the shit modern infantry have to carry at the same time to last for multiple days

Where getting there
Vehicles integral with infantry is not really a new idea. Removing the driver doesn't really make it all that different. What's really the difference a wheeled mule carrying a bunch of shit, and a truck? Not much. This is an optimization, not a revolution

Autonomous functionality. Allowing the infantry to be free and not burdened with micro managing a big RC car.

These guys make a good version.
The main problem is pathfinding, sensors, etc. Most are simply tethered to a beacon.

Smaller size means it can go in anynother _30% of places a Humvee can't, and automation means it can get left at the ORP or without dedicated guards.
If you're used to the mech inf/panzergrenadier model obviously this is nothing special, but from the light infantry side it's a step up because it does legitimately fit in some spaces a full size truck never could.
