Not a bad choice. 9mm would have been better because it costs less but .40 does the job just fine.

I'd recommend also getting a .22 to train along with it, it will help you with your flinch.

I tried them out in a dark room. They work great my dude.
>>
>>34789037
>Safe bet
>Glock
>>
>>34789397
Really the only one's I find necessary beyond night sights are the extended mag and slide releases. Mag release so you don't have to adjust grip to drop a mag (I have large hands and still have to on a full size Glock) and slide release because the stock one is difficult to find under stress and with gloves.

Both "mods" are with stock glock parts for very cheap so there is really no negative at all to doing them.

Next one I consider optional but recommended for most glocks without the newer textures is the decal grip or some sort of stippling if you're into fucking up for $500 gun.

Everything else is pretty superfluous.

The most common mod, a new trigger disconnector, ruins the trigger IMO and makes it mushy, if lighter.
One thing I haven't looked into but have heard good things about is a NY weight spring with a 3.5 connector. Apparently it eliminates the mush of the stock trigger but still gives a nearly stock trigger pull. I haven't tried it though because the stock trigger is fine for anything you'll realistically do with a glock.

I have watched people meme this on the internet since the mid '90s. Not once, not one single fucking time, have I seen someone come forward with a proven incident of this having happened with factory ammo in a stock gun. It's always either some seventh hand account where all of the details have been lost, or some retarded redneck shooting sketchy gun show reloads he bought in bumfuck methville Mississippi.

I've been following this longer than I've been following Asuka vs. Rei discussions, and I can safely say those are actually slightly *less* cancerous.
>>
>>
>>34791593

He's talking *current* production. Everyone is aware that they made steel framed handguns in the past.

With the exception of the SP5K, which is only a "pistol" by virtue of legal technicality, Heckler and Koch does not manufacture any steel frame pistols.

Here's there whole pistol lineup as on August 2017: http://hk-usa.com/product/pistols/

>>Most LGS will have trade in 22's for $289-300
Not OP here. I don't know about "most LGS," since all the gun stores where I live that regularly have used guns in stock tend to really try to Jew their customers the most on them. Plus, then you have to pay sales tax, which bumps up the out-the-door price even more. It's usually cheaper to buy new guns at the LGS near where I live!

Online, though, yes, I've seen some good deals on trade in 22's. It depends on how old they are and the condition, though. Gen 2's sell for the lowest, then gen 3's, then gen 4's. Worse-looking guns sell for less than pristine guns. I have found gen 2's and beat up gen 3's for sale in the $289-300 range, sure. Gen 4's and gen 3's in nice condition would typically sell in the $350 to even $400 range, if it looks really good, comes with all the backstraps, three magazines and the night sights have any life left in them. Slightly more for "unissued."

I recently paid $380 in a private party sale for a police trade-in Glock 22 gen 4 with a little holster wear on the slide, but virtually no internal wear, the original box, all the backstraps included, three magazines, and the night sights have a 2014 date code, so plenty of life left. I would consider that about market price for what I got.

The OP might have overpaid a little, from a by-the-book perspective, given that there is a small amount of visible wear on the barrel, which is nothing to be concerned about, but only notable because you usually have to shoot a Glock quite a lot to see any wear on the barrel at all. The slide catch and take down levers show normal finish loss from holstering and there is minor streaking on the slide. While it does have night sights, it's hard to imagine that they have much life left in them. Most police trade-ins have dead night sights on them, so if they're only at 50-60% brightness (~10 years), they don't really add much value to the gun.
>>
>>34792628
>.40
Doesn't do anything 9mm can't.
>.45
Outdated fudd caliber with no capacity and excessively large slide
>10mm
Overkill for carry gun, I'm getting a 20SF for woods carry but a 17 is far more practical for every day carry

>19 is bezt for 9mm
If you have average to babby size hands maybe. On a 19/23 my hand is cramped, the finger cuts are not in the right place, and in an effort to get my hand on the gun while shooting I push my hand meat into slide bite territory. A 17 gives better sight radius, better capacity, and is much more comfortable to shoot. And on my frame not very difficult compared to a 19 to conceal.

>muh firepower
17 round mag in the gun and a 19 round backup mag. Not missing any firepower.
>>
>>34792628
>muh calibers.

the 9mm has higher capacity and lower recoil, larger glocks have better sight radius which makes it easier to be accurate. Modern 9mm has proven itself to be more then capable at stopping a human. Stop spreading you insecurities.

Glock has a much simpler battery of arms with a consistent trigger press (pull the trigger, gun goes bang. When you are done firing you stop pulling the dtrigger and holster the gun.

CZ75 is a DA/SA decocker pistol. Has an external safety you disengage, then a heavy first round double action trigger pull, then lighter single action trigger pulls thereafter. When you're done firing you actuate the safety and it decocks the gun. Then the next round will be a heavy double action trigger pull.

Glock is dead nuts reliable and light as shit (~24 ounces). Slightly snappier recoil because of the weight. Easy peazy takedown and maintenence.

CZ75 is heavier (all metal gun), has a more complicated takedown, and has smoother felt recoil due to the weight.

What's the date code printed on the sight? It should look like AC, AF, AJ, AM, etc. You could also check the date of your gun if you have the case with the original fired casing, but if it's a used gun, that might have been lost. Also, they might not have been the original sights that came with the gun.

I personally hate the DA/SA trigger pulls. I like my trigger pulls to be consistent.

Personally I don't really see an application for no-striker fired guns these days. They do nearly everything better in a smaller simpler package than a hammer fired gun.

But some people really like the external manual safety security blanket (you can get an external safety striker fired gun with the M&P's) and they like the extra safety blanket of a heavy first round trigger pull.

Seems like issues that should be rectified with training but to each his own.
>>
>>34792837
Oh, my bad. I thought those were Meprolights, which usually have a date code. I think those are Trijicons. I don't think the text pictured is a date code. If there's anything that looks like a two letter code that starts with either an A or B, then that would be relevant, though. It might be the one on the front sight.

Not everything is subjective, cultural Marxist friend. There are a limited number of qualities that I can describe, and a majority of people can come up with independently and therefore agree upon, as contributing to a "good" trigger pull. There are plenty of striker-fired pistols with fairly decent triggers, and this isn't a dig against Glock. The best hammer-fired pistols simply have better triggers than the best striker-fired pistols. Not opinion, fact.

>inconsistent trigger pulls
I don't think you understand what "inconsistent" means. Do you really think that there are handguns where the trigger is sometimes heavier than others at other times? Or that their trigger sometimes breaks farther forward or back in the trigger guard? I don't think you've shot guns enough.
>>
>>34792897
Don't mod the trigger on a glock.

If anything do the $.025 trigger job to smooth it out. The stock connector has a pretty clean break and it's just a matter of training to get used to the amount of take up and the reset.

If you start dropping the minus connectors in you start making the trigger lighter and more mushy which is worse imo. The stock trigger has some weight which is appropriate for a carry gun and has a nice consistent clean break and reset.

Train for the trigger, don't waste a bunch of money fucking with the trigger trying to make it something it isn't and making it all around worse in the process. Possibly making the gun less safe and/or reliable in the process.
>>
>>34792897
It doesn't matter anyway. Night sights are a gimmick that are made irrelevant by ambient light or a good weapon light 99% of the time. The only time I ever care about night sights is when I'm camping, they help me locate my gun in the dark inside the tent.
>>
>>34792942
Well all things considered I wouldn't be the one to mod it, I'd pay professionals to do it.

But I get your point, and that's what I'm saying. I'd rather use it and actually formulate my own opinions than just blindly throw parts at the thing. That's the way I've done shit with my vehicles, the same principle applies
>>
>>34792952
Too true, I paid for night sights and regret it. Can't see the lamps when the weapon light is on, can't see the dots in bright daylight as well as I would be able to see regular white dot sights.
>>
>>34792936
>Not everything is subjective
How you "feel" about something is a subjective opinion my progressive SJW friend.

>There are a limited number of qualities that I can describe, and a majority of people can come up with independently and therefore agree upon, as contributing to a "good" trigger pull.
This is called an 'appeal to popularity' and it is a logical fallacy, friend.

>The best hammer-fired pistols simply have better triggers than the best striker-fired pistols.
>Not opinion, fact.
That is exactly an opinion, friend. One which I disagree with.

>I don't think you understand what "inconsistent" means.
Inconsistent means I pull the trigger once and it is a heavy long 9 pound double action trigger pull on my first shot, I pull the trigger again and it's a light short 4-5 pound single action trigger pull. That is the very definition of inconsistent, friend.

>Do you really think that there are handguns where the trigger is sometimes heavier than others at other times?
That is exactly the case with a DA/SA trigger. Maybe you should try owning a gun, amigo.

>>
>>34792958
Glocks are stupidly easy for the reasonable idiot to take apart and substitute one part for another. A common mod is to change the connector. Changing the trigger as well is just another step. It really gets to be a money sink, though. I agree with the other anon about the minus connector (factory part, not the aftermarket connectors) seems to accentuate the mush in the pre-travel because the breaking point becomes barely any heavier than the mush, and therefore a lighter trigger is harder to stage, so you may be changing your shooting style just to work with a light trigger on a Glock. Your gun is used and the trigger is basically broken in. I'd say you should do at least 1000 repetitions, whether dry firing or live firing, and if you still can't shoot it well after that, then and only then consider modding it.

No, things have value based on use, manufacturing cost, etc.

The manufacturing that goes into something like a gun is much more substantial than the simple electrionics, lens, and body construction of a flashlight.

Quality compact 200 lumen lights exist on the market for much cheaper than $300. There is a significant markup on that light. That means it is not unreasonable to call it overpriced.

I know right? Thought I'd never like a Glock, but the G34 was somehow aesthetically pleasing to me. Also felt good in my hand. Something about that retrofuturistic robocop look.

>makes stupid argument
>cries about it when someone calls him out on his stupidity
>tries to make every excuse under the sun for why he is incapable of making a logical coherent argument

SAD!

Also, that is called an ad hominem. Attacking the person and not his ideas. Another logical fallacy

It appears logic, and communication in general, is not your strong suit.

corduroy pants...... did you just arrive from the 90s?
That being said, not a bad gun but nothing special. Now get out and shoot that thing.

They're v comfy. And they work alright. It's coming around again.

Thanks though I'm excited about this gun.

What's wrong with that?

That's because 1911's are made out of plastic, so there's no presumptions attached.

I too have a meme ar. There pretty fun just for the novelty of it and cproduct magazines work reliably. Just get a heavy trigger spring if you're shooting steel case and you are set. Don't expect your bolt to last more than a couple thousand rounds though.
