I don't understand why this gun was so popular. Nothing would ever get made like this again probably. There were tons of other options for firearms when this thing was around. What made this thing stick around that people actually wanted to keep using it?

I would recommend a Sten, they're easier to make from stampings in a garage. Make sure it's fully automatic of course. Do you have a dog?

Tank crews hated it because of its extremely low rate of fire. Pretty much every tanker issued one of these in WW2 would drop them in favor of the german mp40 or stg44 when they could find them.
