castings are fine when the gun is designed around it. just swapping out the the manufacturing process from forgins to cast makes for a weaker reciever.
and to keep the cost low (the point of casting in the first place) you cant have to much of a thickness difference in the reciever, or else you will get varying grain structure and thus properties, that can cause stress concentrations, and failure.

I keep a Taurus slim in a beanie, in my glove box. Figured if someone somehow broke into my car are only be out $159, and at least I'll always have something at hand otherwise.

This. Fell for the Arsenal SAM7 meme, NIB. Finish was painted bullshit and there was a loose rivet. Traded it for an SLR. Same thing with the shitty paint finish and the sights were canted. Also had a magazine wobble.

Finally traded it for a guy's M92 PAP, 2K in ammo and 12 mags. I was at a $200 loss but it was worth it. Never had a single hangup. The gun is solid, finish is fantastic, etc.

Only thing I didn't like is that the bolt isn't blued and it doesn't take regular AK furniture. But that's a small price for a solid gun. I'm looking to buy an OPAP next. I love Yugo AK's.

I never had any issues from listening to /k/. If anything I had troubles with my own purchases such as a Zastava EZ-40 which stovepiped constantly and my Beretta 92fs which is not a bad gun but, I hate the trigger on it.
