No muzzle brake or flash hider, and with the handguard only going out so far. I see these everywhere, why are they a thing?
Why do you care so much what others do with their rifles?

>Why do you care so much what others do with their rifles?
I wanna know if there's something I'm missing, like some sort of advantage to making rifles like this or if it's a product of regulations or something.
Colt Accurized rifles.
>No muzzle brake or flash hider
At 20" or more, flash will be negligible since most of the powder has been burned. Its unnecessary.
>with the handguard only going out so far.
To the gas block, which is as far as it needs to go.
>I see these everywhere, why are they a thing?
Probably to minimize unnecessary/politically divisive features. This was during the height of the AWB, bear in mind.

A match crown is more accurate that a brake.
The barrel is free float and a 20" hand guard would look ridiculous to some people.
That rifle is designed for long range accuracy using the ar ammo and magazines.
It's probably a hunters rifle.

Nvm I just woke up
That thing is an abomination
Sorry for posting

Flash hiders are verboten in California and there's no reason for a large handguard if you are bench shooting. That gun needs a rifle grip to be truly ban state compliant though.

Benchrest shooting or hunting.

max accuracy. you want a fullstock to balance it out since a collapsible makes it really front heavy.
Because fuck you
>>34773369
target crown leads to better accuracy than any muzzlebreak or flashider. guns so heavy any device would be worthless for mitigating recoil it already has zero. as for suppressors the gun would be fucklong with one added. with a 24+ inch barrel threading is pointless.

Those kind of setups are meant for precision shooting.
The one in your picture is a tasteless povertyfag's attempt at making such a build.

>Why do people make AR's like this?
Because people will buy an AR like that.
school can't start fast enough....
Mostly because people are stupid enough to buy them. Though flash-hiders aren't what i'd call a "must have" feature on a civilian AR. For the same over-all length, you're sacrificing 2 or 3 inches of barrel length, which translates to 50 to 150 fps lost.
