You can find enough Mauser surplus on Gunbroker. Ecuadorian ammo is the real deal Schweres Spitzgeschoss rounds the Werhmacht used for their heavy ball rounds. Yugo is also high quality.

The Mod 98 will probably be easier for you to figure out and maintain than an Enfield if you don't already own milsurp.

My 1918 Irish free state smle is probably my favorite rifle I own. But for 50c/rd you'll mostly be limited to the ishapore. But if you can be patient and find one that isn't poo'd up, they're great rifles as well

Can .308 commercial be fired out of Ishapore 2A1? I know 7.62 Mausers are mostly safe for doing this because Gewehr 98 action is strong enough but what about Enfield action?

i have a ishy ...i like it..although the feedlips on the mag are acting up now. they dont feed from the left side. i think i have to bend them more because buying a new mag is literally out of the picture.
