Why? If the armor doesn't dent then it will spread the impact over its entire surface area. It would be the equivalent of getting punched and if it's a pistol bullet it would be a comparatively weak punch. Even so you can make it so that it doesn't directly touch your head and also have a soft impact delaying layer better the actual armor and skull. Different geometry designs and different materials could also make the projectiles deflect off the armor instead of fully flattening out.

As for cooling there are a bunch of ways to do that, you can take your pick after looking it up.

I'd say it can be useful for a "pointman" to keep on his person and put it on just before a breach. However IMO the Ops-Core face-shield (pic related) is more useful, as it's faster to put on and you don't have to take your helmet off to put the mask on.

There's no real reason to make segmented sections and such. Make it one piece cover and make the interior padding second.
The only thing that needs to be interchangeable is the eye covering in case they get scratched or worse.
