>I'd rather get shot by a .50 than a 22, at least the .50 will kill you right away the .22 will make you paralyzed for the rest of your life
As I was leaving a stand with a new Carcano
>Youre going to kill a president? *wink*
>poorly restored enfield selling for the price of a mint original
>using the "they're getting hard to find" excuse to justify overpricing some milsurp by hundreds of dollars
>dozens of Remington 742 or the like selling for around 600$
>A bunch of non whites selling things not remotely related to guns or militaria
>The knife people
>Random guy looking like a hobo harvesting mushrooms in the woods
What's your reason for still going to gun shows /k/?
Did I forget something?

I don't go to gun shows anymore. It's mostly durr rifles and ARs. For the 45 minutes I spend, there'll be three or four guns that actually catch my interest.

Florida gunshows (orange county) suck nuts. You've got the shoot straight assholes all over
>overpriced milsurp
>"russian" AK's for a grand that somehow are actually made in China.
>Sporterized K98, and Enfields gping for 650
>Guys with tables full of shit not for sale

the most racist way to describe the aimless slow wandering of someone with a simian IQ on colored people time. I love this word
My question is why these types come to these things? Do vendors actually sell to people with obvious antisocial tendencies? You can tell anyone they failed the NICS or were delayed.

one gun show I went to I was selling an only colt revolver. I had a few bites, but noone actually bought it, and on the way out some 90 year old fudd starts waving me down, and asks to see the gun.

He had an oxygen tank and only said one word per breath it seemed like. He said straight up he wasent interested but didnt hand it back, instead he proceeded to tell me the longest, most drawn out uninteresting story about his police training, and I stood there awkwardly for a good 10 minutes, listening to his stupid ass story one fucking word at a time, and all it fucking was, was an anecdote about how colt revolvers are shitty.

>The "reclaim your heritage" confederate booth (This was in Kansas, oddly enough)
>Taser booth, and being able to hear the CLACLACLACLACLACLACLA across the expo center

The worst thing that ever happened to me was six years ago when I was 20, I handled a Hakim at a table for the first time, and didn't know how to close the action, and the guy behind the counter forcefully took it from my hands and told me not to touch his shit.

He did that after I politely asked how it works.
>>
>>34766313
I've never been and I never will. What would be the point? I'd have to pay for a ticket, pay for parking, and then pay convention prices on anything I wanted to purchase. Any gun that I could came across there that might catch my eye could just as easily be found online, and if I want to get jerky, I can either make my own or get one of 20 different flavors from buccees without having to deal with overweight, middle-aged men that think camo is a legitimate fashion accessory.
Gun shows are a fucking meme.

The internet really killed gun shows. Maybe back in the before time, it was a great place to go to buy shit and learn shit. Nowadays any information you hear word-of-mouth is going to be inferior to online information. Any sales are going to be inferior to online sales.

Being an FFL means I only go to shows for old stuff but made any longer. 9mm P220, Mauser's and enfields in 308, etc.

They were different before Obama and different before Sandy hook. When Obama came in the guns changed to mostly run of the mill, recently ordered shit. All the older, interesting stuff disappeared. After Sandy hook ammo went bonkers.

In years prior I would go on the last day and give ammunitionstore.com guys my FFL and they'd sell me ammo for way cheaper than I could order it so they didn't have to cart it back. I'd buy dozens of cases.

I've been going to shows since the 90's, they were more of a mixed bag then, more "commoditized" now.
Also guns in general were much cheaper and the only Internet resource was Usenet so it's hard to compare value.
And then there's:
>Go to "Historical and Modern" gun show
>It's Show-and-Tell for geezers
>Every gun is some unique collector's item with some bullshit story as to why it's $4,000 instead of $1500
>Nobody is buying anything. Maybe the dealers are trading amongst themselves, who knows?
>Coupla durr rifles and shotguns at reasonable prices but none in the caliber or configuration you're looking for.
>Rusted reloading die sets missing parts
>Nazi memorabilia everywhere
>Leave show empty-handed, but at least parking was free.

>Sig P938 was bigger than I thought it'd be
>The T/C Dimension has an underrated smooth bolt
>Walthers feel cheap
>Never see K31s anywhere else

The gun show in my town always has three cool tables.

One has this chill old dude with a footlong beard who always had a Browning M1919 for sale. He sells clips for almost every WW1/WW2 rifle, defused grenades, tracer rounds, used brass, etc.

The second one has this dude who always wears a Crush orange shirt. He always has 2-4 war guns for great deals. He was selling a reblued Mauser Model 1914 with a case for $275. I got a really good deal on a Lee Enfield No. 5 with all of the original parts.

The third guy was a soldier in Afghanistan. He sells lasers, flashlights, and scopes for 40-70% off.

Not much to tell, most recent one:
Decent looking woman (in a conservative way), prolly 29 or so years old, not there with a man, dressed in jeans and a pleather jacket in August in York, PA, avoided the actual FFLs, moved around the quieter perimeter and talked to the old women at the estate sale tables selling like 2 shotguns or whatever. My guess is she was probably trying to get them to sell her a firearm w/o a NICS check so they could go after the organizers or something. I explained to lil bro that all of these factors pointed to her being a federale and he needs to learn to recognize these situations and stay far away from people like this.

>mfw at the fun show at the Cow Palace, Daly City.
>500 tables, hard to talk to sellers because of background noise.
>BOOM.....silence, erry body freezes.
>errybody asking what happened and rubbernecking like their heads are on a swivel.
>minutes later two cops have a white guy handcuffed and his elbows locked and he is bent over
>his face is red as a tomato
>few min later announcer gets on the PA and says "DO NOT have a loaded gun in this show for the reason you just saw".
Turn out a buyer asked if the pistol he had on OC was for sale. He popped out the mag, aimed it at the floor forgetting he had one in the tube.
I don't know what happened to his merchandise.

Last one.
>at a small local show, maybe 80-100 tables.
>eyeballed a really cute MILF who was selling stun guns, ammo boxes and cheap scopes.
>she had tight dress slacks on and high heels obviously trying to bait some buyers
>she caught me staring at her tits
>after I walked past the table, she grabbed a stun gun and let off a long BZZZZZZZZT blast with it.

As a cosplayer and a gun enthusiast, I support going to a gunshow/convention like this so much. The fucking anime/comic convention scene is overrun with libs who won't keep their damn mouth shut about leftist politics.

Oddly enough, I actually run into a couple of employees/dealers at gunshows who are into cosplay/nerd culture. I end up giving my cosplay page's business card at gun shows more than I would ever expect.

The point of the gun show is its a bazaar and people just want rid of their shit

The cancerous attitude of old men like the ones in the stories in this thread drove me away from the gun community, I still have what is in my opinion a fairly impressive collection of guns with some really uncommon stuff but I don't really go shooting anymore or to gun shows. I just can't take being talked down to by some greasy old fudd who assumes I'm an idiot because I'm under 50, and it's like that at every shooting sport related event I've ever been at.

Though every once in a blue moon I'll meet someone who is truly knowledgable and nice to talk to that almost restores my faith in the gun community, almost

I would absolutely love gun shows if you didn't have to pay to get in, just as a side show.

But I'm not paying to get into a cramped warehouse just to pass on literally everything for sale.

My only reason for going is ammo
at the px a box of 50 9mm is 16 dollars
Or
1,000 9mm for 145 at the gum show
I am stationed in Cali so ammo is more expensive here
