Hey /k/, if anybody could give me a quick explanation about how a country would go about defending from a nuclear strike without destroying satellites in the atmosphere it would be much appreciated.

Basically:
- Shoot interceptor missiles at the nuclear missiles (might be able to use directed energy weapons in the future)
- If the nukes are on ICBMs, shoot them down before the MIRVs and decoys deploy or you're up shit creek
Theoretically spam SM-3s
Problem is there has never and will never be enough ships and interceptors to defend against anything more than single digits number of launches (Russia and USA have thousands)
