For some reason /arg/ feels empty today. Normally I can at least glean some perverse degree of enjoyment from the debased banter and attempts at this sick form of socialization, but not today. I find myself beginning to type replies to questions, comments, and jabs, but then I just delete what I've begun to write, and move on to some other window.

Am I growing tired of this bizarre metaphysical space we share? Is this the limbo between my comfortable berth and my inevitable departure. Will I return if I do in fact leave, or is this the another Hotel California?

It all seems so empty and pointless, but I'm sure it was always like that from the perspective I currently view from. Can I, in good faith, truly wish to return from whence I came? Or is just another step in the natural progression?

I want classes to start back up again. 24 months and then whatever comes next.

I work a lot, and when it comes down to spending my time/fun budget on parts that arent significant performance upgrades and actually getting to go shoot, 9 times out of ten, I'd much rather spend the morning at the range. M&P-kun here, decided say fuck upgrading stuff on the rifle and took off the ERGO grip, MOE stock and slap regular m4 stuff back on it, then taped a shitty light to it. We /Enduring Freedom/ now. It's a different A2 grip from the one that came on it, and I think it is a little thicker on width and the finger shelf, so I actually like it more than the ergo.

I figure I would be better served just keeping the rifle as is, and eventually build a more tactical oriented one if I see the need to in the future instead of dumping money into this when I don't really need to.


I would like to put a decent light on it though since that is the only thing I really would need.

The polytac's are supposed to be fine correct? I don't really want to spend $10000000 on a light that I'll only use if I am in a self defense situation. I might get a magpul forend for my 870 for HD instead so if it holds up to 12gauge that would be good.

No real difference other than one being black.

Other than physical profile, not really. Just make sure your gas block ID matches the OD of your barrel at the gas port and the block is made out of steel. I use geissele's blocks because they ship one with each SMR and I've already got a jig to pin them. Otherwise I'd just use whatever I could throw in the cart before I order.

not that i can think of off the top of my head unless a constant small obstruction while using optics will bother you.

So I got to thinking.

If a single 800 lumen light was far too bright for HD. Why stop there? I could potentially mount 4 800 lumen streamlights and wire them to a single pressure switch. 3200 fucking lumens of directed light into a persons face.

The light pollution may cause temporary sheen in my eyes but the person I was pointing it at would be on the ground writhing in agony.

It could be the ultimate in HD non-lethal and would make you a spotlight outside.
