In my country I cannot own semi-auto rifles, but can own pistols. An ar15 becomes a pistol if it is less than 750mm in overall length (but it may still be regarded as a rifle if it "substantially duplicates the function of one").
Basically I'm wondering if I get an armourer to cut the barrel from 16" to 10" (with the flash hider on the end), if it is under 750mm with the stock fully extended.
S&W say it is 35" overall, so hypothetically 29" (736mm) will be the length, but I don't know if that'll hold true.

My main concern is the clause that if it "duplicates" a rifle, then it is one.
An alternative might be the Sig brace or Kak Blade, both of which look shorter in length anyway and are marketed as pistol braces. Not sure if that'd still qualify as "replicating" a rifle, but I'd have a semi-strong case to argue if they said it did.
