Maybe Oppenheimer can weigh in on with 1980s Cold War paper.
It looks pretty legit to me. The only issue I see is the author doesn't understand the impact footprint of ICBMs as he thinks targets on opposites sides of Australia could be hit by a single MIRV'ed ICBM.
His argument against an attack on Australia cities makes sense.

Also, how many warheads would radio masts and radomes get? What sort of overpressure do they require?

Thread isn't going too well mate.

i think radomes are just made of thin metal. they shouldn't take much. maybe 20-50 psi?
>Every single one of our cities hosts a military base
>Means every city would be a crater in a war
Just fuck my country up

Ex WO1 in signals told me what bases were "targeted" during the cold war, was surprised that even a small signals base in Melbourne was on the list.

The idea of a radome is to protect the equipment from weather and observation while not affecting the signals. They're usually a geodesic dome made of thin metal rods covered by fiberglass or heavy fabric so they don't interfere with transmissions or intercepts. It wouldn't take much to knock out a whole bunch of those since radar antennas are basically giant ship sails and high winds from a blast would bend them or tear them off their mounts/bases

tell me it's near the cbd and was assigned something with a 50km blast radius
