DA on my Taurus 85 is a fucking weird two stage thing that allows me to basically index and lock the cylinder on 2/3 pull, then slack, then a pseudo SA break so I never have to thumb it back. But it is a split frame with exposed knurling so I can cock it manually if I wanted. I personally love it and refuse to carry an exposed hammer snub.

I live in the biggest city in my state and an ambulance is never that far away, those packs/gauze would only cause issues at the hospital IMO

This is literally the size of my wallet and is just for walking around town, I have a much bigger kit built off of an Army IFAK with a ton of extras I keep in my car and take hiking.

I agree. Fuck the handbook and all other fluff materials. All the flavor text and art was SJW injected but the mechanics are decently solid.

I will give them credit. It's easier to bring someone into a game of 5E if they've never played before and get them interested in earlier versions. I mainly just use the mechanics and leave fluff up to whoever DM's anyway so 5E isn't a major pain to me. Homebrew all the way, which 5E accomodates pretty well.

I actually like the mechanics of 5e. It simplifies a lot of the absurd bloat of 3.5, which by its end became that fat lardball at Walmart whos' mass would require 2 scooters or 1 Bobcat.

It's really easy to introduce new players to it, and it has a lot of the "feel" of 3.5 without some of the ridiculous fat.

Buy a good holster and it's a non-issue. Your holster covers the gun on its way out of the cover garment.
Pic related doesn't even cover the front sight and it still isn't a problem really. A real holster makes it almost impossible.

No holster to protect extra tall front sight from grabbing yo pants. It's not a huge deal but it's not as perfectly snag-free as a holster. The area of the slide behind the front sight prevents your pants from grabbing at the sight 99% of the time but it's still a potential snagging point.
I never worried too much about it with my VG2. Def never worried with a full holster.

I paid ~$40 for a used one on eBay. The model is "6280-932". Safariland's holster chart says it's specifically for the USP 45 with UTL, and also the USP 9/40 with UTL. I think it was designed for the 45 first, since my usp 9 is slightly loose. The retention screw helps a little.

My next project is replacing the belt mount with one of those quick-detach QLS modules.

Get a USP45T and be done with it. Grab the one that has LE3 or V3 or something in the part number that comes with the 3rd mag and mepro nightsights. Its called the LE package or something. Much cheaper than a la carting the ~$1029 package that has standard irons and only 2 mags. Always order HK by the part#'s and not what the dealer/website has written, and cross-reference it somewhere else.

Having gone down that path (LEO, not armed currier) I would caution you to only go Fed law enforcement. If you go to a local agency do so only as a resume builder for Fed. If you want a close second to fixed you can do a folder in a quick draw sheath. It opens 100% of the time on draw. Similar to an Emerson Wave style blade but more dependable in high stress. On the plus side this lets you choose non-tacticool knives if you care about such a thing.

I AIWB carry a USP45 full size with a 16 round extended magazine. The USP9/40 are significantly smaller, and tge compact is smaller than those. You're good.
