Actually, looks like something with a tip up barrel.

You can see what looks like a pin and hinge. Also no trigger guard and very large trigger. Possible flare or pellet gun.

Doesn't explain the magazine...

>>34748679
A huge number of toys from the 30's-60's where fully cast metal.

Truth is we won't know what it is exactly until enough rust comes off. I take back what I said about the magazine, the more I look the more I don't see one. The unique trigger and lack of a trigger guard is the biggest indicator that it's either a toy, starting pistol or something, but hey it may have rusted off.

Really?
>>
What kind of shape is the bore in?
>>
The place it was found was known for bootlegging during prohibition, found in a cellar hole on a mountain. It's most likely real and missing the triggerguard

IMG_0497.jpg
1MB, 4032x3024px
It was in an old cellar hole. Right next to what looks like an old holster and lantern pieces and a 1932 Indian Head nickel. I'll take some measurements soon.
>>
>>34748894
Can you clean out the bore?
Try a wire brush in a drill press.
>>
>>34748378
Turn it into the police. Chances are it is a abandoned weapon from a homicide
>>
>>34748795
That's not rust, that's deep-fried. You can't clean it up for use, but you can do some nice things with it.

For example; Place it under a box propped up with a stick that has a piece of twine tied to it. Wait for your local bix-noods to come, as the twin draws of an unregistered firearm and something deep-fried will bring them howling down from their trees, then drop the box on them. With a little electroshock, you've got your own gimmedat to send out on errands.
>>
>>34748378
stop teasing and just electrolysis it already
post pics or videos of progress

>>
I mean is the thing rusted through to the point it can't be salvaged or is that just crap deep fried on it? Start breaking this shit off McNigga

Hi boofy!!
>>
Ah.. It's not real. I started to clean the borehole and it's small. About the size of a headphone jack (.177 BB?) Also, there is a small fracture line right down the middle of the barrel, continuing along the whole unit.
Damn - still cool.
>>
>>34748926
A homicide from like the 30's or some shit. I think it's alright now.

Yep these toy guns are all surely made of plastic wood and lead....
The rust is obviously photoshopped onto them.
>>
Wire brush on a drill or a grinder. You have nothing to lose. It'll scratch the shit out of any metal but it will knock the fucking rust off.

>>
>>34755802
Not necessarily, I got a toy repeating cap gun from my great great aunt that looked like a smaller Colt 1903 pocket hammerless.
The grip spun open, you put in a roll of caps that was perforated like the old printers, slid it up to the wheel, fed it through and each pull of the trigger cocked the hammer, fed ribbon up and bang.

I found it in my great great aunt's garage and she said I could have it, some kids were playing with the thing in her yard back in the 40s or 50s and they left it and never came back.

Unfortunately I lost it, I think I remember lending it to a friend but he never gave it back.
