Can i request for a custom sword to be built? I want a family sword to pass on to my son and his son after him, without being a wall decoration. Anybody know of blacksmiths who can make battle-ready shortswords like pic related? Ive been searching for a store bought one and this is the only one that really caught my eye.
have you searched for custom swordsmiths? there are tons.

You're fucking autistic, but fine
https://www.albion-swords.com/
They make swords based on ancient metallurgy and actual museum samples, and are run by historians and sword makers. Everything is fully functional, but don't be fucking retarded, it's a wall piece. I'm not a sword-fag I'm just a history autist, and I've wanted a real gladius to hold while reading Caesar and other Roman history for a while, but haven't been able to save up with all the money I put into my guns and school

Do you have at least a thousand to drop on a sword? That's how much a custom one will cost at the bare minimum.
You could buy an FX lightsaber. Those are kind of cool.

Having something made specifically and solely to be a heirloom seems odd to me, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
Semi-historical?

Albion don't strive for historically accurate metallurgy, they just go for modern monosteel. And as for OP's request, they aren't known to do custom work either really.

OP here, theres a reason i want a battle ready sword made instead of wall art blades

kek, sounds like your family has no history at all so you're eager to manufacture some

>without it being a wall decoration
You gonna use it to, like, fight people with? I mean there are some legit historical fencing schools in the EU that teach longsword fighting straight from the manuscripts.
But please don't do this its so cringy

For a fully functional custom one you're looking at $1k, probably closer to $2k+ minimum. With a wait time possibly over a year.
That said, this tipfag>>34748023 has given you a pretty good starting point. You could also browse the site your OP pic is from. They have a huge variety of just about everything.

Albion isn't exactly wall art. Anyway, search around the myarmoury.com forums and find some people. Like Michael Pikula, he does Viking stuff. Dunno if he makes seaxes like in your pic though.
