realize that there is nothing they can do about an alien race that travel between planets. focus on keeping civil order as riots, protests, and mass panic sweep through the country.

Can all the people that thought this movie was realistic explain to me how the lady protagonist was brought into the mother ship by a smaller pod ship (that the army had not yet seen or knew) and then brought her back out without anyone seemingly interested. Wouldn't all the 24 hour surveillance and shit have picked it up? and wouldn't it have been the biggest piece of news since the aliens had arrived?
