Need to get a small caliber rifle for small/medium game and general rec
Ideally I want to be able to to use it for fox and yote's but will most likely mainly used for squirrel and rabbit
What would be best with cheap rounds and won't just explode squirrels if I want to eat one or ruin a small fox hide?
Where the best place to find a cheap used gun?
.22 and .17hmr too small?
22-250, .223 too big?

Get a Sako Quad or a CZ 455, and you can find out just fine. I don't know about coyotes, but if they're the same as foxes, they'll die just fine from 17 HMR. Can't help you with squirrels, but I reckon that if 22 LR is too harsh on them, you'll be wanting an air rifle instead.
