I get it for rock climbing and other niche roles, but for general hiking and street use they seem retarded. One of the main purposes of a shoe is to protect your toes, so individually packaging them in a please-fuck-my-webs-up rubber sock seems to open you up to the very injuries hiking footwear tries to protect you from.

Comfy as fuck. Feet def. got stronger. Better balance. Makes climing shit ez. Feet did shorten up & toes got longer. I have triple wide feet so its hard to find shit that fits, these make it nice. Only wear them in the summer since its cold AF here.

They aren't very good if your bushwacking - no protection for ankle so its easy to get cuts.

fixed my curled under pinky toes, which allowed me to fix my lower back and shoulder posture.

I don't wear them every day any more, but doing so for years was very very good for my particular set of conditions.

only weakness is thorns or sticks between toes. otherwise its like soft-armored barefoot.

feels like having your feet in mud. love it.

as far as operating goes, they aren't really sturdy enough for travel with a heavy load (although I have backpacked short trips in them, about 2 miles to camp). but if lightweight, speed, agility and silence are top issues, i might go for them.

also, the soles are WAY too soft for vertical rock climbing. they will get shredded. not at all appropriate, barely even functional. great for navigating rocky river terrain (wet or dry, steep but below 40 degree surfaces), but if i had to scale a rock wall i would much rather do it barefoot.

climbing shoes are literally the opposite of toe shoes. they are designed to be like grippy hooves, not floppy grabby handfeet

I think a good pair of boots are best for operating. Just make sure you have good ankle support, comfortable soles, and good material that doesnt fall apart. Good socks are also very important. I also prefer non-water proof boots. In my limited military experience, if you're gonna be in a wet environment, than water proof is just gonna keep the water from draining out, take longer to dry, and not breath as well.

Eh mileage may vary. I've never had an issue with my ankles, not really meant to support ankles anyway. I tie them super tight so my foot doesn't slide around in them and retie if they get loose just a little to save my socks and bottom of my feet. Good for short walks and look nice. Best thing about them is that they are super silent on almost all surfaces though.

I have multiple pairs of high end boots, Asolo Fugitive GTXs, Salomon Quest 4D 2s, Danner RATS, Danner USMC Hot Weathers and a few others.

I'm getting annoyed with all of them though, I really just want something that I can trudge around in creeks and swamps with, any recommendations? Looking for something that just dries quick and has a full boot profile, with the exception of maybe some really securable trail shoes

I don't remember what kind they were, but I wore some high top leather Nikes for like 4 years before they were too ratty for me to wear to school. I beat the shit out of them too, hiking through snow, heavy brush, mud, etc. I'd forgotten about them but now I want to get a new pair.

nike - town fucks wear those because they have hoves instead feet. long think foot fits well in nikes additionally italian sport shoes.
New Balance - usual something for older faggets who got wider feet. especially people, who grew up on farms runing around with naked feet. good for fat people. shit breacks prety fast if you got over 100 kg body.
Puma - good stable shit for people who are around 60-80 KG heavy. wider feet. not really weather proof but very comfortable. additionally french shit.
Adidas- good new technologies. but none knows how to read their fucking size measures so everyone goes shopping in the markets. expensive shit. also not weather proof. sadly stretches out so you can end with fucking clown size shit. unless you got leather adis.
