F111... slow piece of shit ... the b-1b lancer can smoke the fuck out of it
>>
Why are they doing this? Can't they scrap the frames and turn them into cock plugs or something?
>>
Are those jets?
Why are they burying jets in dirt?
Why not just have them sitting out in some aircraft graveyard looking cool?
Or at least take them apart to recycle them?
>>
>>34738777
It's cheaper to do this than crush them, plus the metal you reclaim won't be very high quality.
>>
>>34738785
Just sit them out in the middle of nowhere above ground then, surely that's easier than digging a hole for them and burying them with construction equipment.
>>
>>34738781
They've already removed anything of value. What they are burying is essentially just a hunk of aluminum and wiring.

Infact, it was all part of the deal made way back when they were first bought by Australia. As they were nuclear capable, it was agreed that they should be disposed in such a way that one could be sure they would not fall into anyone elses hands.

Sounds like garbage today, but a deal is a deal.

yeah its no match for modern strike units in contested airspace but for bombing goat fuckers in Iraq, Syria(not SAA) and Afghanistan it'd be perfect with its longer loiter time and larger amount of ordnance

Surely bait.

We all know Chinese engine tech is rubbish, which is why they're hurling vast quantities of money at it. You see smoke trails coming out of Chinese fighters that wouldn't look awry from a 50s bomber jet. They might be able to copy the electronics and software, but they can't quite get making jet engines that are of truly modern standard yet. Maybe in a few years' time, but for now, they lag behind badly and they know it. If I were a gambling man I'd say that's why they're being cautious with regards a war in the China Sea - their aircraft are still unit-for-unit inferior to Japanese and American craft.

Here's a pic and an article as sources.

He's quoting a Chinese industry source from a Chinese paper, you silly sausage. You haven't even read the first three lines. I'm not even American.

More to the point, accusations about the reliability of sources are, quite simply, terribly childish. They betray an inability to consider a proposition that contradicts one's views as being worthy of consideration, and really can only be made in light of the source being exceptional in comparison to peer articles or other available evidence. The evidence suggests that Chinese jets are nowhere near as good as American or Euro jets, or maybe even Russian ones, because if the former were really that good, everyone important would be using them rather than their Western counterparts. Simplistic argument I know, but it'll do in a general sense.

Now begone, Beijing shill, and crawl into your shoebox apartment and choke on your 'benevolent' government's industrial fumes. Remember this - you will never enjoy the wealth you country's elite does. You would have to be an exceptional person, and let's face it, people posting bait on a Vietnamese wood-block carving forum are not intellectually or economically exceptional.

Give it up mate. Your society is even more rotten and degenerate than ours. The future of the world does not belong to you, no more than it belonged to Rome or to the Third Reich.

Also, you still lost the argument. The truth tastes bitter, brother, but drink deeply of it and you might end up a little wiser for it.

They did twice in GW1.

EF-111 flew nap of the earth so well the pilot intentionally took it and it's persuing MIG into a Canyon area and caused the MIG to crash. The sparkvark was awarded the kill.

It's other kill was when one killed a hovering Iraqi helicopter with a laser guided bomb.

HMS Barham,
The Ship was torpedoed with 4 torps by U Boat.
Crew evacuating as she capsized when the 4" magazine detonated, with it being an open evacuation the explosion propagated to the 15" magazines.

How do we know it was a magazine explosion and not a boiler explosion?

If you pay attention, you'll see the blast occurs right as the funnels enter the water. Cold ocean water rushing in and hitting the hot, pressurized boilers could easily rupture them.

I often wonder. Who had it worse? The men in the water or the men on the hull?
>>
>>34750750
the front wheels?
>>
>>34751159
The men in the water. Water carries an explosion much further than air. Their organs would all be jelly.

Nearly positive that last one was an F-15.

i remember that documentary, super sad, all that fucking time, poor mechanics.
>>
>>34751137
but the boilers would explode out of the stacks first again, not from rear under the main battery.
>>
>>34751137
An admiralty inquiry at the time, the explosion is aft of the boiler rooms
There was supposedly a fire sighted at the 4" magazines but the order to abandon ship was seen as the priority.
>>
>>34751137
A boiler explosion would not have been enough to breach the belt armor, a boiler explosion has an open funnel as an existing exit for the blast

>when your SSBNs are so silent nobody can hear you coming
>not even your allies' own SSBN right in front of you

also this, even with the 24 train boilers it had,
they wouldn't split it at the belt like a banana.

>wait whats so shit/hated about this jet again?
Probably the fact DoD wanted multi-role fighter for both Navy and Air Force, Air Force got medium strategic bomber and Navy got dumpster fire that was too big and heavy to be deployed on carriers and had maneuveribility of dead llama.

Most of the time I look at these type of pictures as gub'ment waste. This is one of the few times where I get feels. Fuck the Ukies and their Obama puppet leader.

Russians seem to have butthurt ingrained in their psyche

Look at all youtube comments about various military hardware, most westerners will talk rationally about the plane, tank, or whatever no matter where it came from. But all Russians do is talk about how shitty western tech is and how Russian is superior and they pump out retarded mega autistic fantasy videos like this all the time.

What the fuck is wrong with them?

I'm aware I was just using that to give a general time frame. The claim that the j-20 is an f-22 rival seems to be a bit of a stretch anyways.

The US government routinely sells equipment like this to companies who specialize in reclaiming military equipment. govliquidations.com is one of the ways they do and people bid for the scrap metal and understand the process and legality of how the scrap has to be handled (on site, under supervision, requirements on how big the pieces of metal can be etc)
