Today it was announced that this rifle will be produced here, along with the Px4 Storm Pistol.
https://www.boletinoficial.gob.ar/#!DetalleNorma/168327/20170801
It is the Beretta ARX 200 7,62x51 NATO
Tho I will not believe anything until I saw it on the hands of some soldier here. But in the case of this being legit.
Is wise to gamble on such a new rifle?
Data
>Magazine Capacity: 20
>Barrel Length: 16 in. (40.6 cm
>Weight (Unloaded): 8.6 lbs (3.9 kg)
It would have been better to just modernise the FN FAL?
Better for the industry to have a new thing to produce
FALs were great for their time but it's the 21st century and bolts should lock into barrel extensions not receiver mounted locking shoulders now.

I hope that will become reality anon.
Bersa is doing very good in the States I was told.
Baretta's modern guns are all pretty hideous imo

It think it actually looks cute, except the stock which is hideous.
It's like a shortstack with clubfoot.
>>34729063
Eh. I like them. They def give off a near future sci-fi vibe.
I recently got an ARX 100 and I really like it. I hope they sell it to us civilians too.
>>34728548
Why isn't the circled part just more handguard? It feels like it'll be pretty crowded up there once you mount lasers, lights and a grip or grenade launcher. Also, why is there this weird gap?
>>34729406
We can only use pistols and revolvers .32 and below.
Rifles only .22 and you need special permit to use a hunting rifle.
Cuck my shit up!

Here's a configuration rom the Italian Army of a ARX 160

It's a big girl
>Beretta
Yeah no
So when do civvies get bread-uhs in 7.62 Nutto?
>>34729523
there's a hole in your gun

Everyday we get closer to planetside weapons
Beretta is a very good system. Argies made a decent decision but should have bought AR-10's from United States to support their overseers.
If it's anything like the ARX-100, it'll be a pretty neat gun. Hopefully they don't overdo the MSRP like they did with the ARX though, or maybe they should that way in 8 months it'll be less than half the price of the MSRP.
Anyway read this shit I wrote here:

Welcome to the club :^)

>would have been better to just modernise the FN FAL?
I love my l1a1 but there is a lot about FALs that is horribly outdated to the point you might as well start from the ground up.

It's been tested by other countries as well, so there is data. IIRC it didn't do too well in India's trials, but still not absolutely terrible. It passed Italy's trials, made it through the first part of American trials before the program was cancelled (again), got into the top 5 of French trials (but lost to the H&K 416).
As for battle tested? The 5.56 version has been used in Afghanistan. Besides that, not really. The Italians performed extremely poorly, but mostly due to horrendous command and tactical decisions like bribing the Muj not to fight them.
>Is wise to gamble on such a new rifle?
Kind of. All new weapon systems are untested at first. It's an inevitable risk. But it's not even that far out there because underneath the flashy plastic exterior this is a pretty straightforward AR-18 bastard child.
>It would have been better to just modernise the FN FAL?
No. Can't be done. The FAL is an old-school system limited by design parameters at the time. They didn't have the rapid and cheap industrial processes we have today. They had to mill everything out of steel.
The FAL bolt mates to the receiver which holds the barrel. That means the receiver is a pressure-bearing component during firing. It has to be made entirely out of forged steel which is a bitch to machine.
Most modern rifles have either a barrel extension or a trunnion for the bolt to lock into. Much smaller and cheaper to machine. Most of everything else is cheap aluminum or plastic. It can be paper mache for all it matters. It just holds stuff together.

But muh 7,62 anon!
Really, our military does not like at all the idea of changing rounds. And we already have a decent amount of them bullets...just decent amount, we have a shitty army :(
>>34730128
As long as you have a better army than The Eternal Paraguay, you'll be fine.
>>34730138
They are invading in the form of migrants, over 1 million of them already here.
And a combination of Britain paranoid about us and our leftie corroup gov. made our army into shit.

Visited without UBlock just for you anon. Nice read, I wish I knew more about gunzz to enjoy it better.

Your "review" is fucking awful, quit posting it here.
>>34729455
Probably because they're going for the dmr market. No one needs to mount half that shit to an SR25 so in their heads it's cool.
If Argentina falls, all of South America falls.
>>34729771
It's a speed hole anon.

God yes please.
