Does /k/ have any ideas for a good edc blade that would be under "2 for college carry? I'm looking at the kershaw chive rn. Suggestions?
>>
I wouldn't even bother.
>>
>>34728153
Is that really a rule? That sucks. I like my leek so I suspect the chive is nice. Very pretty knife with a nice action. No good for defending yourself or prying or anything. Metal is pretty but not very grippy for tough work but the blade is nice for fine work.
>>34728221
Why not? A 2" blade can be useful. Have you never used a little swiss army knife?
>>
>>34728260
>prying with a knife

No anon.
>>
Your best bet is a karambit. It'd obviously have zero reach, but holy fuck those things tear shit up
>>
>>34728276
There are times gently prying with a knife is useful. I don't mean for anything heavy duty that needs a crowbar or anything of course. If you just use your EDC as a piece of jewelry of course you wouldn't know.
>>34728286
Did the OP even specify self defense? A karambit has shit utility.

Swiss Army Bantam

Under $20 and non threating
>>
>under 2"
would a fixed blade be too autistic?
>>
>>34728153
Must suck not being a Texas fag, and not being able to keep your sword in your backpack and your pistol concealed while while in college...
>>
>>34728329
>non locking
Also if you get a swiss army knife it's worth getting something with a few more tools to suit OP's preferences.

You want the red ones not to frighten the normies. Plus the tweezers are useful.

I carry a CKRT M21 and a Gerber EOD multitool every day at college. I once opened up a box for my English professor with the M21 and she never said a goddamn thing. And she was a fucking SJW Massachusetts transplant.

Don't be a pussy anon. Carry whatever you want.

I fucking love my Chive. I got it for 20 bucks at a clearance sale at my local Cabelas. I've been carrying it for a year now and it never stops being useful for EDC innacity. The Ken Onion opening mechanism is great.

Move to Texas and carry a handgun.
>>
>>34728930
Texasfag here, while open carry was legalized, almost all private schools outright forbid guns (and knives probably), and public universities forbid handguns on campus in the law.
>>
>>34730781
conceal carry is legal in all public universities and very recently community colleges in Texas, I dont know what the fuck you are talking about
>>
>teacher talks about how a student brought a pocket knife for a demonstration and was told to leave immediately and come back when its gone

>College carry
Looking to get into a knife fight with your gender studies professor?

I'm sincerely in a baffle over what someone would need a "College carry" knife for. A horde of cardboard boxes trying to shoot up the school?

College carry knife, thanks for the laughs anon.
>>
>>34732421

I don't get you autists at all. Why carry a knife around? I could understand if you have a genuine reason for carrying it. But the teacher will open the boxes for you because you cannot be trusted with scissors. The knifes you carry aren't really useful for anything really either, they are those cheap tacticool knifes that aren't sharp and go dull after cutting card anyway.

Just stop being fat already.
>>
heh in undergrad my university's limit was 6" fixed blades

but now I live in a cucked city for professional school that forbids knives outright

I love my state. Nobody gives a shit if I carry this scary salt knife. Hell nobody cares when I walk to the gym with my bow case and a box full of arrows.
>>
>>34728153
>under "2
This is /k/-weapons. I think you're in the wrong place.
>>
No idea, I just carry my skeletool on my belt loop and no ones' said a word about it anywhere. Same at school. This is in Southern California in a non-authoritarian heavy area though, so your experience may differ.
>>
>>34732505
Similarly, I live in Iowa, even the dyed in the wool democrats here carry pocket knives.
>>
>>34732436
Not OP, but I'm a chemistry student and I've had to cut rubber hosing to length a few times. Plus I go to work after school, so I can open boxes and shit.
>>

>>
>>34728153
just carry you fucking pussy, you'll only get in trouble if someone steals your pack or if you go full autist and threaten someone

or just get some mace, carrying a knife for self defense is for niggers and white trash

Disregard the 2" limit. I did so and had no problems. Professors would sometimes have trouble opening something and I could offer help if it's, for example, a box with tape on it. They always commented on how much they liked this knife. I'm not shitting you at all. I go to a large school in the Southeast, and all the faculty loved it.
>>
>>34732436
My knife ended up coming in use for many different reasons, oddly enough.
I only needed to brandish it in self-defense once and it did the job of making the attacker think twice and leave.
You just never know and it's the most versatile tool a human can have.
