Is there a better dump pouch than the Emdom MM?

>Has stiffener to minimize floppiness.
>Can be folded up
>Half cover and snap at the mouth to prevent items falling out
>Uses malice clips

What's not to like? Only downside I can see is that it's made in Hong Kong but at least the design is based in the US. With that said it's a legit piece of gear not some airsoft garbage.

Budget?
Actually liter capacity? Some people think you can do 3 days on 24L, others say you need 50L.

Personally these are the three day packs I am considering right now, but I'm also poor.

On topic of packs, someone mentioned the AWS BTAP in the last thread or the one before. Whoever that was, if you see this, what are you able to carry in it if you stuff it full and what is your typical load for it? Provided you actually own it/have used it of course.

Scale of 1-10 how bad did I fuck up

>>
>>34720689
I am 5'6" nipple to nipple measurement is right about 8.75". A small esapi is a little short but good on width, a medium is fine on width but maybe a little long (long legs relative to torso)

And this 8x10 is definitely getting to the probably too small side of things, but hey it was cheap and for now is something that will work.

With prior gear I detest anything that comes anywhere close to Fouling pistol draw or being obtrusive with a sling etc. inhibiting movement in general so I guess I'd rather err on to small than too big

Yes, fuck them. Pockets are made of lint i swear to god. My G43 spare mag put several large holes in the pockets in the course of 4 months of just walking around.

Comfy pants but shitty as expected.

I hear you on that. My first carrier and plates setup was an AWS OCPC in Large with SAPI XL multi curve ceramics. I'm not a small guy, but I'm also not Gargantuanon. Those plates were way too big. I've got some 10x12"s from Armour Wear that are actually 9.5x11.25" but I appreciate the saved weight and increased mobility.

>>34720733
That is neat.

LAPG STS pants confirmed for decent poorfag pants. Surprising amount of water resistance combined with breathability. Internal kneed pad pockets, decent fit, and decently durable. I've got several range days, working on the car, work days, hikes, and camping trips on them now.

After looking at the trekking tights it looks like they are made out of their stretch materials similar to the stretch panels on the kebs. Its a cool fabric thats very stretch and low friction but I would question its durability in the long term if you are doing a lot of shit in the thick bush/rocks/concrete. Additionally I dont think its super waterproof. The G1000 stuff feels ungodly strong and can take some wax for waterproofness.
>>
>>34720784
I thought about Armor Wear, especially when they list those actual dimensions. We will see how much room there is in this plateminus when it shows up Wednesday. BFG being BFG though somehow I don't think there is going to be much in the way of extra space.. but that's fine if it doesn't have any.

Should i save up for crye field pants or buy a couple pairs of 5.11/LAPG pants?
>>
>>34722261
The way to determine that is to think over how you will feel about your purchase once you have destroyed it.
>>
>>34722261
as a crye nerd the field pants are glorified BDUs, it's not worth "saving up" for. also you can get them on ebay for much less than Crye's prices cause they were issued to US SOF people but were largely ignored in favor of the combat pants.

The big advantage is that they are thinner, and narrower in sections because of the scalloping. I've found you can snake them easier, and often create new columns of molle effectively because they'll fit in places the others ones won't.

I do. I unfortunately don't have any updated images with it mounted like that however. I personally like it a lot. It's a bit easier to grab it. I also find it a little bit easier sheathing it again than I did when it was in a regular position. I thought it was going to be dumb but I was bored and figures I'd give it a shot and I ended up liking it more than I thought I would.

Dual ACH has two fixed TP120 wires, that's where the "dual" comes from. ACH might sometimes also include the helmet connectors (pic related).

Regular comtac III has only one fixed TP120 wire or none at default. There's also other regular models which don't even include the MT31 mic.

It works pretty well at holding my Glock 19 and FNS-9L. It does have some play, but you can mitigate by tightening the tension screw and putting in some liner - I just used industrial velcro. It doesn't move around at all when it's on my hip and I'm running. You can use it with Safariland's quick-locking systems too which is a nice bonus.

Asked patch and they are unsure.

Is it illegal or in some kind of violation to wear a patch on your carrier that implies you are law enforcement? Like a big ass "POLICE" or "US MARSHALS"
>>
>>34731029
It could be construed as impersonating a police officer if done in public, though it's not inherently illegal as a costume. If you were in a situation where a person of sound mind could reasonably expect to see someone in a police costume, it would be legal.
>>
>>34731044
Just mulling over grabbing one. It would be a never ever ever going to happen scenario. If there was an active shooter and I had time to get on my carrier and arm myself and for some reason could not simply flee. It would help prevent random heroes from trying to tackle me out or getting shoot by the police when they do show up.
>>
>>34731057
>If there was an active shooter and I had time to get on my carrier and arm myself and for some reason could not simply flee
I'm not understanding the geometry of this.
If you're somewhere in public, where would you "get" your plate carrier from? Do you mean escaping and getting to a vehicle? Because then you'd already be out of danger, so it wouldn't really matter. Active shooter rigs are more for the guys responding and moving towards the shooting.
>>
>>34731221
Call it a "Die hard" scenario. Where for some reason you couldn't just leave the shooter even if you got clear but don't want a slug in your back from overly excited police.
>>
>>34731029
Impersonating a police officer is probably a criminal offense in all 50 states, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a federal law too.
In between the two extremes of dressing up in a costume to play a cop in a movie, and dressing up in a uniform to pull over people on the highway, there's a vast and wide grey area of (il)legality. Putting Police and Marshal patches on your carrier falls somewhere in that grey area, probably leaning towards illegal.
I guess if you want to take your bedroom handcuffs and batons fantasy to the next level, it's legal, but... don't take it outside of your rape dungeon.

Well if I get locked in a building it's not like I can pull a plate carrier and rifle out of my ass.

Anyway, to answer your question, get one of these bad boys. I haven't had a single confrontation or even a dirty look since I started wearing it.

Anyone know of any good smoke grenades, getting an M18 here is more or less impossible, but I was looking into civilian smoke grenades. Enola Gaye seems to make good ones with the EG18X which is supposedly like the real deal, but they also have the SD/CM75 which is 4 times larger, sadly cant find any of these for sales. Anyone got any experience or know any other brands?

If it's not being used, or being used in a scenario game like airaoft or paintball, or as a spacific reference to a video game or movie at comicon, then its legal to have and own.

Just dont be an idiot and wear it out in public, unless at a private event, where one would reasonably deduce that you are a cosplayer.

Yo WGWS, a few questions. That is the Tactical Tailor Fight Light Flashbang/Smoke pouch right? Do the EG18Xs fit in there okay? They seem a little larger than a M18 so I wasn't sure how tight they would be and how much adjustment the pouch has with the bungee.

>>34737795
>Wow I'm retarded. I thought the cardboard sleeves for the M18s were EG18Xs....
No worries, they are neat cardboard shipping tubes that help seal out moisture and protect the pin in transit.

The EG smokes arent all that bad My main complaint is the caps on them, the little plastic caps fit on so poorly that I use masking tape to tape them down. Masking tape is pretty ideal for this since you can twist the cap to break it off or pull it off easily. The EG dont have a spoon so the risk of them going off due to a snagged pin is pretty high and results in a shitty day with the sparks that they throw.

There's no reason to buy one except for actually being LE, LARPing in a designated area, or to commit what is in most States a Felony.

If SHTF to the point society collapses you won't want to make yourself a target by identifying with The State if you're not a member of some security apparatus.

If it's you're everyday run-of-the-mill worst case scenario such as an active shooter you'll either be immediately engaged in the shooting in which case you won't have time to get your gear and will just be fighting with your EDC or you will be vacating the area.

Cool bro, post your gen iiis. As a college student, I'd rather spend more money on guns and ammo then $3,000+ nods and $2,500+ on a MAWL or IR laser variant. But some day when I'm not getting raped by school, car, life, then yeah.

If that's your gear, then nice gear. Personally, I'd rather own more guns then gear I'd rarely use other than to hunt or post pictures trying to flex to autists whom I'll never meet in real life. And can you tell me what college student (who pays out of pocket) should spend close to $6000 on things he'll rarely use. I'd rather buy another car than buy all of that, I think only a retard would spend recklessly like that.

Emerson tactical, the only "knock-off" piece on my helmet. It's actually very well made and apparently made with legit NYCO m81. It fits for what I want/need it for.

I think you lost me. I was saying why would I use a clamp for my light, when I could use arc rails for it (implying that they are the most stable mounting option for the charge). I havent updated any of my pictures really, after I got my light.

>>
>>34743255
Basically only some added bulk as it can never be shorter/slimmer/narrower than the frame. But that only matters if the pack is severely underpacked and in that case you could just use a smaller pack.

The frame also means that the load is always that much further away from your body than with an internal frame pack. But it also ventilates nicely and is solid as a rock.

So tradeoffs really, as with anything. I´ve carried both internals and externals in civvie life and the military and personally I prefer a good old external frame because of that extra reliability and stability.

>>
>>34743384
Works very well, didnt know about it when I bought it, but it does adjust and move nicely with your hips/body. This is the 125L version btw
>>
>>34743466
Intredasting... I'll have to test that when I bump into one of those next time. I have a natural fear of intricate moving parts in heavy carrying packs, but I trust Norrona enough to believe that thing should be good to go.

>>34743410
They're lighter, cheaper, and dimensionally smiliar to ballistic helmets.

The RP80 in the pic that began this discussion would be worth taking a look at. It´s the latest step in the evolution of Finnish external frame military packs.

The old LJK (pic) has been issued since the 80's. Kinda crude in a good way, and bombproof, but not modular in any way.

Most all modern plate carriers (including some slicks but those are less likely) have a way to carry side plates built in or with an additional pouch. Refer to the pastebin for a list of good carriers, decide what looks good to you, then ask here if it's good to go with side plates.
>>34741835
Eagle, Crye, HSGI, PIG, and I'm sure many other reputable companies make good side plate pouches. Stay away from Condor and AR500 Armor (maybe 5.11 too). I don't have personal experience with any of these products (since I don't use side plates and I have a Mayflower APC which takes side plates standard anyways) but I would want a pouch carrying my armor to be high quality. With the amount of good pouches out there, there is no excuse to buy something shitty.

With that said, we can help a lot more once you read over the pastebin and decide what PC, what size front/back plates, and what size side plates you want (6x6 or 6x8).

My local LEO just done fucked up and gave me a licence to carry with NO RESTRICTIONS.
I live in MA in a "red city" so this is kind of a big deal for me.

so now i want to CC but I only have a railed steel framed 1911 so (pic related) what are my options for how and where to carry

hell i'll even take advise on belts

i read the pastebin>>34720483
but not really helpful...

also i have a x300u on my operator.
if i could carry with the light attached, that would be ideal, i'd prefer to not have to keep taking the light on or off.

>>

Try the QDDTOT. This is a safe space more for larping in the woods, wearing full gear, where concealment isn't super important.

My advice is don't use a screwdriver as a hammer. Get you a modern polymer striker gun that's designed for CCWing.

literally only allowed to have guns on you for hunting IF you can find a place to hunt
