I finally narrowed down to pick a CZ 75 but there's so many models I can't make up my mind. I will use it only for range, no conceal carry. Quick rundown on all CZ 75 models?

I wouldn't claim they're the best double action triggers on the market (that goes to sig) but CZ triggers aren't bad by any means. Especially if you get an omega. Hell even my 75B has a decent trigger now that it's broken in.
>>
>>34720720
The double action was OK. I was talking about the single action. It sucked donkey dick.
>>
>>34719247
Are you literally too lazy to go to the manufacturer's website and look through their catalog on your own?

>9mm
SP-01 = full size, rail (biggest)
75B = full size, no rail
75B Compact = compact, no rail
75B P-01 = compact, alloy frame, rail
PCR = compact, alloy frame, no rail
2075 RAMI = subcompact (smallest)

Next time, do it yourself, faggotard.

>>34720135
>>34720157
>>34720669

The triggers aren't that bad, but it's an acquired taste. The double action pull is long but is smooth, but the decocker version can feel "cammy" - like you're camming gears together unevenly - but not terrible. The single action pull has a few mm of creep through the break, but it's smooth creep. It feels like a Geissele single stage AR-15 trigger. Great if you want the break to surprise you.

My 75B has a way better single action than my Beretta 92. My buddy's CZ omega has the best single action trigger i've tried.
>>
>>34720751

This. Omega's SA is ridiculous.

GL finding one though that isn't a decocker.
>>
>>34720770
You know they come with the parts to convert to safety model, right? That's the whole gimmick of the Omega system.
>>
>>34720749
You forgot the CZ 75b SA. Full sized, larger beavertail, single action goodness.
>>
>>34720804
I didn't mention certain variations, like the Tactical Sports and the Omega models, because they are either irrelevant to a first time CZ buyer, or superfluous and he can figure out the difference if he finds one in store.
>>
>>34720804
I also didn't give any unnecessary details, like stating the frame material when it was not relevant to differentiate the model from another similar model. K.I.S.S. Like I said, he can go to the manufacturer's website if he wants the full story.

I don't particularly like the Beretta 92 either. The only good triggers I've ever seen on handguns were 1911s and Smith and Wesson revolvers in single action. Timney makes good rifle triggers.

No love for the fuddy five ?
>>
>>34719247
Actually. I have a question as well. I'm going to be turning 21 in a couple of months and I was looking at a P01 as a carry gun. I'm curious, is there much of a difference in how the full size v compact carries? I like the A E S T H E T I C S and handling of the full size a bit more, and it's cheaper for me.
>>
>>34721696
The P-01 weighs like half a pound less. What do you think?
>>
>>34721591
>CAL. .45
>. .

What a blunder.
>>
>>34721746
That it'd be a better "carry" choice in general. I'm just wondering if the difference between that and the full-size 75 would be enough to make a big difference. I usually don't wear any clothes lighter than cargo shorts and a slightly over-sized t-shirt out if that helps.
>>
>>34721778
Well you're going to need a belt for either of them. I wouldn't want to carry anything more than 20 ounces or so if it's my EDC.
>>
>>34721785
Most of the clothes I usually wear tend to use a belt, never was a fan of wearing sweats and gym shorts out. Makes me feel like a tool, but that's a story for /fa/
>>
>>34721801
Look, if you want to get into concealed-carry, the CZ 75 isn't ideal unless you really love being uncomfortable constantly and like to wear a windbreaker. I didn't carry a gun when I was 21, though. It is a huge responsibility.
>>
>>34721813
Thought as much, looks like it's down to the P01. Thank you!

trigger wasn't that great out of the box.
Smoothed out a bit from shooting it, but still had grittiness towards the end of the trigger pull.

Not the heaviest DA pull (that goes to the HK USP's), but I swapped in a #15 hammer spring, a CGW extended firing pin, and their hammer really took ALL the grit out of the pull, in fact, it's almost a clean break.

Then again, this was my first handgun, so I'm gonna put some money into it.

Get one with the safety then, since the de-cocker is more for carry.

The SP-01 is damn good, but a normal CZ-75B will serve you well, too. A SAO 75B is also an option since that is optimized for range use.

If you have absolutely zero intention to carry it ever, and will not change your mind in the future, the standard 75b will be fine. It's got a safety, but if it's just a range toy, you shouldn't ever touch that.

Now, if you have the inkling that you might someday carry it, just go for the decocker model, or 75BD.

>>34721813

>>34720323

JK, the tactical is a good choice for comp due to their stupid ass rules aimed at gibbing DA/SA guns and giving and edge to glocks and other striker fireds

>>34720706

>>34721696
Yes. Im a pretty big guy but CCWing a sp01 with 18rnd mags requires dressing around and is typically something i reserve for cooler weather.

>>34721813
DESU i do fine with a loose flannel, good belt, and good holster on a regular cz-75. but if you aren't 6' + and ok with looking slightly slobbish it's a whole other story.

>>
>>34724391

Hijacking for my own purposes. Is the P-01 worth the extra money over the P-07? I liked the feel of the P-01 but I haven't looked at a P-07 in person. It's like $150-$200 difference, plus I will probably carry it, so I don't want to spend $600 on something for carry. I know about the mag costs, but for regular use 75 mags work fine I heard. Don't plan on upgrading parts in either of them.
>>
>>34724895
Depends on if you want the slightly better firing characteristics provided by the increased weight of the P01 or the improved ccw comfort offered by the lighter p-07. Both do everything comparably, just a matter of preference.

Personally I'd go with the P01 or PCR but that's because i prefer metal.
>>
>>34724831
No, I'm saying that I personally think carrying hammer down, loaded chamber, with a heavy DA first pull is better than cocked and locked. And I'm sure you think the opposite. Which is exactly why both guns exist.

>>34724806
Each carry method has its benefits. I just prefer not having to switch off a safety before I pull the trigger. For that preference, I have a heavier, DA trigger pull.

>>34724846
Apologies, I meant to say that a safety model is very much a carryable weapon.

Get the CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow!
I've owned many guns (SigSauer, Glock, Beretta, S&W, Ruger, Taurus) and this own some of them.
But the best pistol I have owned so far is CZ Shadow. I love it and compared to many other guns its slide release and magasin release works perfect. The gun is stable and it's trigger pull works great.
Go to your local gunshop and try it out. I haven't tried the newer versioner (Shadow 2) but you should definitely try that out as well. I have heard plenty of positive reviews so far from people who shoot IPSC.

Good luck from Denmark.

I have three CZ's, an sp-01, a tactical sports, and a 75B that was used as a base for an open division racegun. The triggers were pretty terrible on all of them out of the box. Heavy, lots of creep, obvious hammer camming etc.
They're extremely easy to work on though and a cz with a good trigger job rivals any 1911 trigger, but stock? Completely underwhelming.
>>
>>34725607
How cheap is cheap and what is more desirable about the Pre-B's? I think no firing pin block correct? Will modern parts for the most park interchange in a Pre-B?

>>
>>34727486
But striker fired guns are so popular!

I get that you and maybe some other's don't like them but they're probably the single most common design in use today.

On another and completely unrelated note, what practical inherent value does a Striker fired design offer over an SAO design?

Firing pin blocks/safeties aren't exclusive to either design so mechanical safety isn't an inherent feature over SAO.

All I've heard of is that a hammer can become clogged with debris and that all things being equal a striker fired design can be made more compact.

OTOH SAO tends to have less of an issue with light strikes and hydrolocking than SF handguns and also allows you to visually observe the firearms state(cocked/uncocked).

What exactly is it about SAO that makes it obsolete other than the designs that tend to be SAO?

If anybody has an informed opinion or source on the subject id love to hear it

My friend has hand tremors and fybromyalgia, she said she greatly preferred the feeling of shooting a CZ75 Compact over a Glock, because it doesn't feel like it 'wobbles and shifts' when it fires like a Glock does, like it's solid and secure.

I would never feel poorly equipped armed with a Glock 17, very rugged and functional, but I can kinda see her point, and I'm really no fan at all of the quasi-DAO trigger they have (the safety I can take or leave).
On the other hand, I feel that the M&P feels kind of passable.
