Desert Tech just posted a video of them assembling multiple videos of the MDR so hopefully I will get mine in time for nuggetfest. People will have a chance to get out a cool looking space gun so bring lots of brass .308. Will also have my scar 17 and my steel targets again.

From what I'm reading you only get mold when your humidity is 70% or higher. I keep mine between 65-70%. Also higher heat will contribute to mold, but I don't let my house get above 72º downstairs. Yes, so long as it's about that week to 8 days you mentioned and I can find places to crash (pun totally intended) for the night that would cost very little to nothing because I'm broke AF.

Considering the thread, I'm going to assume you're thinking of at most 3 people with 1 rifle and 1 handgun plus ammo. Further assume that would be about 275# per person average (including me). We would need an airplane to carry at least 1100# plus fuel.

I have a place nearby that allows overnight rentals, and out of their selection the first aircraft that comes to mind is the Piper Seneca (picrelated). It can carry a total of 1415 pounds which taking out our 1100# of people leaves us with 315# or about 52 Gallons of Fuel. With that, cruising at about 180mph and eating 18.3 gph, we could fly 400 mile legs (little over 2 hours flight time).

For a good reference, that's about the straight line distance from where DUKE is in >>34770015 to Dallas. Another 400 mile leg and we're in the Kansas City area which is a stone's throw away from where MWNF is.
Considering that'd be about a 4-5 hour trip one way, it would run you about $2900 for the above trip, as well as the time required for me to get checked out in their airplane so I can rent it.

That's just making a lot of assumptions and only pricing out one aircraft. If I had a better idea of what I'm carrying and where I can give you a more exact estimate.

There is another aircraft that the same rental company has, A Beech Baron. It could carry about 2000# total. Using my previous example with Duke (1100# people+guns), we could carry full fuel or 134gal (804#). Engines burning at about 30 gph, going 180 knots (207 mph) we could go a bit under 4 hours flight time or 700nm (828 mi).
So if we fly the Baron it's definetely possible to do 6 people and a Decent distance per leg.

flying people with no gear or ammo is several times cheaper just buying commercial tickets. I was looking to get 4 or 6 people there from the coasts and that is a clusterfuck stopping for fuel two - four times per trip.
I'm going to call a couple of the larger charter services Monday or Tuesday and find out what the damage would be, the thing that is going to torpedo it will be them traveling with guns. Who knows maybe we will get lucky.

Honestly, the hardest part is taking time away from work.

Duchess and i both had medical issues that required surgeries at the same time, and i no longer have a full time job because of it (and some backstabbing bastard, but that isn't important).

She's lucky enough to still have a job, but she needs to be 100% present (no tardies or nothing) for 90 days, and THEN she gets to use vacation time.

It is less an issue of gear and shit than it is time. I want to go, god knows, but i doubt i can. Should I be able to, you bet your ass I'll show up.

Maybe I'll even have my homebuilt AK with me by then.

We had 56 (?) last year and it wasn't overly cramped. We've pushed brush back a bit further this year and are likely going to do a bit more so there should be even more room.

Considering normal attendance is between 35 at shitty frozen hellhole venues in the winter to, I think 125 was the max, I think we'll be ok. Worst case scenario people will have to set up their tents on the hayfield up between parking and the range and walk from camp to their tent.
