Yeah but that gun was tits in nightfire
>>34718015
Kraut? that's an OICW, it's an American weapon developed in the 90's.
>>34718243
>HK OICW
I will one day find out how the G11 works then I can die.
>>34719107
Why is this gun so special anyways? It looks pretty standard.

There's little doubt in my mind that the person who designed this was actually autistic.
>>34719888
Probably not, it's just over engineered like basically everything else the krauts make
>>34719925
>over engineered
Why is that bad?
>>34719837
What in the fuck could all that shit possibly be doing?
I feel like you could get a passable caseless platform without much more complication than a Kalashnikov.
Was it some sort of west German "make work" program? I know their economy was sputtering along at that point.
>>34719941
More parts to break down I gues
>>34719950
Because 3 round burst with the recoil only being felt at the third round
>>34720002
Amazing
>>34720023
Oh, and it's at a 2100 round per minute rate too.
>>34719950
All that complication is mostly for the 3-round hyperburst where it fires 3 rounds at like 2100 rpm. Same idea as the an-94 except with one more round and it's caseless and it doesn't use a fucking pulley.
The idea around that time period was that that soldiers weren't good shots and wasted ammo on full blast, so they really just need something like a 300 yard shotgun. Hence shit like project SALVO, burst cams, and the g11.

Wew. Loved this game on ps2. I know most people always rave about Goldeneye being the go to Bond game but this one will always be my favorite.
>>34718015

>>34720180
I never played Golden Eye, but James Bond has had some pretty rad games which is unusually for a movie franchise. Another great one I remember was Everything or Nothing

ywn watch a jap bodyguard beg for her life as you incinerate her with a rocket engine
>>34720152
Funfact: they corrected their shots by reading the press about where the shells landed and correcting accordingly.
Once the French got wind of that, they started to give misdirections so that the shots landed somewhere less populated.
>>34721343
>somewhere less populated
So, anywhere it landed?
>>34719825
>>34719831
I never really looked into this gun, I just assumed the whole 'Kraut Spess Majic' thing was a meme because it looks weird.
> the third shot has already left the barrel by the time the recoil is felt by the shooter shooter
>2000 rpm
> what the fuck is that mechanism
Was it reverse engineered from crashed ayyys?
>>34719825
Over the years I've just gotten more confused about this thing
Pic related is the mechanism the g11 was thought to have been based on, this gif demonstrates the mechanism pretty well for anybody confused
>>34721715
It's a little known fact that orks in the 40k universe are actually based on the Krauts
Simply put; their equipment works because they believe it will.
>>34721715

You do realize that it's the US military that made the requirements, yes?
>>34723261
We didn't. The interim solution simply became the permanent solution without any conclusion or even reference to the problem. It still exists.
>>34723506
Yeah, but it wasn't developed by the US.
You're moving goalposts
>>34723717
>You're moving goalposts
There never were any goalposts. I made an observation.
Who's the autist, the guy who says the weapon must fulfil certain requirements, without regard to physical realities and that some of them contradict each other? Or the guy who just does the job of adhering to said requirements to the best of his abilities in the hopes of making money?
>>34723764

Usually overengineering means that the extra effort put into a design doesn't add anything. It's like pouring water into a glass for so long that it starts to flood; the glass is already fill, so nothing is being added but water is being wasted. It's not as simple as that but that's the basic idea.

It was a true testament to how awful the fudd culture really is. We were going to get a sick space rifle for the US military but some general that fought in Vietnam went all "muh M16 is the perfect rifle" and called in a bunch of favors to have the rifle update project buried.
I'd fucking kill for a G11 with a couple thousand rounds of ammo, no joke.

>a grenade launcher so shitty the troops demanded they have their M203s back
>>34730600
M320 was shitty?
Why haven't I heard about this?
>>34730608
Because Heckler & Koch have deep pockets
>Soldiers complained about switching from the simple, more streamlined M203 to one with more sophisticated attachments. Complaints ranged from the forward grip and sighting system, the pistol grip handle catching on things, and the side loading mechanism. They even criticized its ability to act as a stand-alone launcher, a feature included in response to troops re-acquiring Vietnam-era M79 grenade launchers that supposedly gave better accuracy when fired from the shoulder than if slung under a rifle, although the collapsible stock is somewhat short for the task.
