I've notice that pretty much anything that isn't 9mm or 22, is around 50¢ or more a round. Box of 9x18 at my lgs is $25, same for .45, more for .40, 38 and 357, yet can get steel case 9mm for $12 and brass for $16. WTF is up with these prices?

The ammo is not that expensive. The last time I ordered it the Fiocchi 9X18 was 115 per 500 rounds, just a little more (16 bucks) then the 9mm. You can find cheaper ammo if you want dirtier steel cased stuff as well.
