Tell me what you think.
First one is moly grease(it's a glossy dense black grease, bought it in a tube from some automotive company online) and wd40 specialist long term anti corrosion
hexagonal boron nitride And lithium grease(read it on a forum somewhere, apparently moly grease under high temps produces an abrasive oxide and this is better.
Same as last mixture except add the wd40 anti corrosion stuff.

The reason for the wd40 anti corrosion is to help with rust in high humidity environments. It's also quite slick.

Wd40 isn't good for anti corrosion

Jesus Christ, people are stupid.
Molybdenum disulfide is for high load and relative motion surfaces like hypoid gears. The sliding surfaces on firearms are not high load.
High temperature for lubricants is several hundred degrees for extended periods. Firearms parts, even operating fully automatic, do not generated the loads nor temperatures that would need these types of lubricants.

I use Motorkote in my guns and my car every few oil changes.
Stays wet for a long time

This is wd40 specialist long term corrosion inhibitor.

This is the grease

If you're running a lot of ammo through an ar15 the temps can rise to a high degree. It's a DI gun, you're blowing a lot of hot gasses Into the bolt carrier group and this is worse with carbine gas systems for short barrels. And if you have metal on metal contact, very fast too, and over and over that can also raise temperatures.
Have you ever used a dremel tool on a s all piece of steel or aluminum? After a minute it becomes very hot, after 2 scorching hot.
Now there isn't that much contact in a firearm like in my example but there's some and again in ar15s theres the gas.

fucking hell.
So I had a bit of an issue with rust with one of my rifles. There was a little bit of rust in the barrel from humidity. I cleaned it out with paper towels and a wooden stick, wrapped around the stick, fired it 4 times and then I put some oil into the barrel(vegetable oil as I had nothing else) using a syringe.
Well now that oil has dried out in the barrel and I can't even see the rifling. It's a bit glossy.
Is this obstruction dangerous if I were to fire it? This isn't lead fouling but oil fouling. I guess the oil seems to have gone oxidation and formed some sort of sticky polymer.
This is a 9mm cz 75.

>veggie oil in your gun

Underage plz go

>>34718162
WHICH ONE WHOULD I BUY? EEZOX?
>>

>too poor for 3-in-1 oil
>uses food oil that goes rancid

Swab it out with solvent and kill yourself
>>
>>34719013
I had nothing else and my barrel was rusting. And it did prevent the rust.
So is it dangerous?
>>
>>34719044
It's not dangerous per se (tho I would certainly clean the barrel first). It is known for inevitably evaporating and congealing into gunk.

If you can't afford CLP, slip2k, hoppes, graphite powder or whatever your lube of choice is, make like a grownup and use motor oil.
>>
>>34719044
Get a copper brush and some hoppes #9. Spend 5 minutes scrubbing and use old motor oil before veggie oil next time. In fact, use motor oil.
>>
>>34719044

only if you put it in your mouth.
>>
>>34718162
Looks like WD-40 held its own fairly well despite it not being a gun-specific formulation and the disdain it receives literally everywhere.
>Ballistol
Tell me why people use this shit again?

I use Marvel Mystery Oil on my guns.
>>
>>34719221
>Tell me why people use this shit again?

Because it will not fuck up stocks or slings like a lot of more "modern" lubes.

And, because it works.
>>
>>34719283
is eezox safe for p2k?

I've always found Tri-flow the best.
