The paint sucks. The bolt throw is different from most bolt actions so you have to be mindful about not trying to beat it to 90*

in my experience my Ishapore gets a sticky bolt and the brass shows rings near the end. I don't feed it .308 anymore.

enfields dont use lugs on their bolt heads. When their head-space runs out, they are dead. Their bolt has lugs in the middle of the bolt body and it stretches the reciever

Is now a good time to buy one? Over time I'm sure they will go up in price but we are just comming down from a mil surp bubble. I want one so bad. I saw one at Cabelas for sale. I was so close to getting it.

This is a 2A1 rifle; takes rimless 7.62 NATO. The clips should be standard M14 clips, if I recall correctly. You can even get 10-round clips that loads the whole magazine in one long push.

Magazine is 12 rounds, not 10.

I got one several years ago at an estate sale for $150. Nice gun for what it was. Poor finish slapped on by the shitters but it's an enfield and arguably the last bolt action rifle manufactured for regular infantry use in a military. I shot .308 and 7.62x51 in mine. People tell you not to because fudds, if you're really paranoid about it you can check your headspacing but 99% says it'll be cleaner than a public toilet on the corner of a designated shitting street.
