I know. It's a nasty instinctual habit of firing off into suspicious sounds. Heck, I've even put a few holes in my neighbors cabin and ATV by accident in the past. Luckily, they don't come often, so I was able to blame it on hooligans when they asked me about it.

My 16-17 year old cat is sick, occasionally drinking and hasn't eaten food in 2 days.
I think her joints hurt because she acts like she wants things but doesn't even open her mouth much to meow.

I can't bring her to a vet until 4PM tomorrow. I'm scared.

One thing I can tell you is that nigs absolutely do not fuck with dogs. If you're out at night even in a kinda rough neighborhood if you have a couple pits or a Rottweiler with you nobody is gonna fuck with you. Nigs respect what they know can fuck them up, and they respect the shit out of dogs, especially ones they are familiar with as I previously mentioned (pits, rots, GSD) and also are much better than you (mostly) of sensing danger especially when someone unfamiliar is approaching.

Yeah, white GSDs aren't very common (although it seems like everyone that stops to comment about him says they used to have one)

I took them both to the mardi gras parade in Galveston this past year, and a motorcycle cop held up the entire parade a few minutes while he chatted with us and got a pic for his daughter since they apparently used to have a white GSD. The entire time I was looking nervously at the floats behind him waiting and tried holding my pup still so he could get a good pic and let everyone go.

I understand and condone your disdain. Statistically, they are the most dangerous dog even to their own family. They CAN be. They aren't like pit bulls where they are so common and cheap anyone with no training or research can get one. My gsd will play with things by herself if she cannot get my or my other dogs attention. She will literally toss objects from across a room into my face and if I dont pay attention she will throw it in the air and catch it on her own.

At one time this was an every day occurrence but these days she prefers to growl and bark at the neighborhood brown people.

I know these feels all too well. I lost my lab (pic above) very suddenly a few years ago and I still think about her everyday. My cat passed away more slowly and both times I bawled like a child. If I watch old home movies with either of them I will start to tear up.

speaking of strong doggos, my 11 year old dachshund was bitten right above his right eye when he was 4 by a diamondback rattler. I had to shuttle him back and forth every day between two vets because one had antivenom specialist and the other had boarding facilities and a yard. He couldn't move for a week, but I knew he would be ok when they put him out in the yard and he very slowly walked over to me, licked my shin once, and plopped back down on the grass. His head's never been the same though. It kind of swelled up when he got bit and while it got smaller, it never returned to the size it was beforehand.

Pitbulls are generally only dangerous if they've been abused or not properly socialized. Get a puppy or a dog that folks at the shelter know to be well adjusted (they put down the problem cases). They tend to be suspicious of strangers, but fiercely devoted to their family. Lastly, if your animal handling skills are not up to snuff you'll have issues with whatever you adopt.

My guy works on the ranch in the sky now. His mouth was beyond repair and finally hit critical mass last friday. Putting him down was one of the hardest things ive done.

Previous owners filed down and broke his lower teeth k9 to k9. Who the fuck does that?? He never showed he was in pain, vet had to tell me because he took it so well. I feel bad that i couldnt tell, and selfish that he put up with that and I didnt know how much he hurt. But he was still the best dog I ever had.
Ill see you again Bridger, eat up all the frogs in heaven till I get there.

I am very allergic to cats and got a hypoallergenic cat, (breed:siberian forest cat) last year.
They are actually amazing. Very dog like (mine at least, greets anyone who visits, and likes to play and be held), mine even pants when playing, and plays fetch.

Visit the kittens when they are young to see if the allergies impact you, as a group of kittens produces far more allergens then a neutered adult cat in that breed.

OP here, not good. They're naturally more food aggressive and less play friendly that GSD or Rottweilers are, so with little kids that like to pull on shit, lean on the dog, play with the dog's food or bones, it's not a great dog. I'd definitely get a GSD or Rottweiler, owned both, great dogs. Canis would freak me out sometimes though. He never bit me, and he probably never would have, but there were times I was unsure of myself around him. Especially after he saved me from those other kids, up until I was a teenager I wasn't 100% with that dog.

Rotts and Shepherds are amazing, Golden Retrievers are probably the #1 best family dog but are shit guardians, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, Kangals, etc. are kinda iffy in temperament even with training.

My boy, Rommel, (pictured "patiently" waiting for me to tell him that he can go eat) should be getting well over 100 lbs. His dad is about 125 and his mom was big for a female at 95. He overtook his sister, Stuka, (>>34715625), who has been holding steady at about 70 lbs, when he was about 7 months old. They have the same mother, but about a year difference in age and different fathers.

My girl acts the exact same way being mostly quiet, but super alert if she hears something, maybe a low growl. The boy on the other hand is a giant pansy. He will bark at pretty much anything, people, other dogs, cars, empty cars, funny looking trash bags, what have you. Although he hasn't been as socialized as she was. We got her while we were living in an apartment, so we would go on daily walks for bathroom breaks. We got him when we moved into our current house, so walks are less often since I can just let them loose out back.

when my family lived on the rammstein airbase my family got a kitten. He was my first battle buddy, and even though he was a firey little fucker that would attack my ass during dinner he was my best friend. Little dude would follow me around and sleep on my feet.
