I prefer their single stack offers to their doubles, but that's just me. Picked up an XD40 subcompact in a trade a few years ago... Very solid and the workmanship seemed better than Glock. But, was too thick for its intended purpose.

I have the mod 2 in 9mm, it's basically a less plain looking glock. I do prefer it over the glock because I'm a hold-out when it comes to grip safeties.

I have carried Glocks through many summers now. I haven't seen any rust. I was interested in buying a coworkers XD (it is a fullsize slide, but with a compact grip), but it was deeply pitted along the slide from his limited time carrying it. I don't think they hold up to corrosion as well as a Glock. Other than that I suspect they are quite good. I definitely like their magazine sleeves a lot better. When you insert the mag, it doesn't leave a huge gap like it does on a Glock.

I'm a very sweaty person and have had zero rust problems with my XD. I give it a quick cleaning and wipe down every or every other weekend.
