Well, my C&R License finally came. What's /k/'s opinion of the different C&R/milsurp dealers? Which are, in your experience, the best and worst? Which are the most honest when it comes to stating the condition of the gun? ("good to very good - shiny bore" but it looks like dog shit and is practically smoothbore)
Classic Firearms
Aimsurplus
J&G Sales
Southern Ohio Gun
Simpson Firearms
Liberty Tree Collectors
Allen's Armory
<Any others I missed>

Aim surplus basically never actually has surplus, and they seem to rarely update their stock. I've only ever bought ammo from them. No problems doing that.
I've bought a few accessories from liberty tree, and i had good experiences with them. The shipping can take awhile, but they're good.
I've only bought one thing from Simpson, and it wasnt a gun. They were decent, and I've heard from others that their descriptions are spot on and their prices decent to good.
Haven't dealt or heard reviews of the others.
>>34713317
i use wikiarms.
they have a c&r section.
but im a poor fag so im looking for the good cheep shit.
i find the best deals on gunbroker tho.
more used shit.
like a reminton 721 30-06 w/ scope for 350 shipped
they dont make them like they used to.
>>34713340
I've heard good things about Simpson as well. I think Ian made a video about them as well?
Glade to hear Liberty Tree is good - they have some interesting stuff.
>>34713374
I got a new ejector box and some 7mm strippers for my 1895 Chilean from them. From order confirmation to arrival was about 4-5 days. Good stuff.
>>34713317
Slightly off topic, I don't want to give brokegunner my id, and they flagged my account. Any good sites pumping out nuggets for a fair price that will just ship to my damn ffl without a hassle?
>>34713741
I'm asking this too. They flagged me for no damn reason and I don't feel like giving them a driver's license and shit (seriously) where else can I go because gunbroker seems like the best place to buy anything? I've been doing money orders using armslist as of late but you always risk being scammed so I want to stop t
>the absolute state of the price of 7.62x54R
Cheapest 20 round set I can find near me is $10.99, which is fucking cheap compared to other outlets. The gun range I frequent is selling a 20 round box of winchester for 35 bucks
>>34713741
http://www.southernohiogun.com/longguns/surplus-longguns
Only place I'm aware of that has them in stock. Price is "fair" in that it's in line with they're marked for at gun shows once you're past shipping and FFL. If you have your C&R then it's better.
>>34713848
Thanks Anon, did you order one of these yourself? I'm curious about what quality I can expect
>>34714019
My Mosin is the only milsurp that I bought back when I SHOULD have started collecting. I got it from Classic about a decade ago, back when they were about $100.
I've never ordered from SOG (though I keep eying those fucking Schmidt-Rubins).
Ok so does anyone know about C&R in CA? I just sent my application last week, but now I'm seeing shit online saying that you still have to go through an FFL in this stupid state, but there's also shit to the contrary. Which is true?
>>34714363
you need a certificate of eligibility from cal doj to ship long guns direct to your house. pistols have to go through a ffl
>>34714481
>certificate of eligibility
that made it easier to find results on google
but shit
>mfw I need to go get my fingerprints scanned and send that shit to the DOJ as if my fingerprints haven't been taken every time I've purchased a firearm
>mfw I have to pay more fees and send another application
fuck this gay earth honestly
So after that anon advised me to, I went to order from southern Ohio gun, and I realized there is no section to put my ffl holder, only home address. Do I have to have the ffl order for me or something?
>>34715021
just have it sent to your house
>>34715064
Nibba I live in new york with no ffl or c&r, the ATF is gonna show up and bust a nut all over this place
>>34715103
>the ATF is gonna show up and bust a nut all over this place
doubt it :^)
>>34715103
ATF doesn't care about your state laws.
>>34715103
if they bust a nut on anyone it would be SOG.
They should not ship it without.
>>34715262
I don't think they will, probably just cancel my order. Anyway, just to make sure it goes through I should have an ffl shop do it right?
>>34713317
Your about 10 years late
>>34713317
How long did it take for yours to come? I haven't heard anything in like a month. No calls, no emails, nothing.
>>34715283
na i bet SOG just gives you a call asking for your ffl info.
or just have your ffl give them a call with your name and order number.
>>34715313
OP here, sorry for the late reply. My came 36 days after the ATF charged my card (for the $30 fee), and 38 days after they received the package.
>>34713317
saged, we dont need uneducated millennials jacknig up the prices any higher than they already have been
>>34713317
I've purchased several guns from J&G...never had any issues.
>>34715917
the more rabid gun owners the better
centerfire has some new c&r guns in

Buy online. There's tons of wolf 174 gr and tula 148gr for 50 cents shipped. Also try posting willing to buy ads on armslist. I just bought 1200 rounds of surplus for 400 bucks
>>34715021
Put the shipping info as your FFLs info and have them email SOG
>>34713317
Collectors Firearms
Checkpoint Charlies
You're welcome.
>>34715021
Send SOG an e-mail with your order number and FFL info attached. If you don't have a scan of the FFL info tell your FFL to send them a copy of their info.
Well, we all missed the cheap milsurp bubble. Within a very few years, I'd bet you won't be able to find any decent-quality milsurp firearm under $500. Get 'em now when they're, well, not cheap, but not as expensive as they're going to be.
J&G is a solid company, bto their store in Prescott AZ, good people.
I'd trust J&G over any of those other places
What do I need to do to get a C&R license? Just apply? Where, and what information do I need to give?
