Bought Blue Force Gear plateminus V1

Picked up triple M4 10 speed mag pouch (Have 10 speed chest rig already) as something to have for mean time. It was $16

Looking at Hoplite Level IV $279 plates

Pistol belt I have Lowride SLS for my 17 w/ TLR1

Double 10 speed pistol mag carriers and full size BFG ifak (it's way too big)

So for my pistol belt, thinking 2 esstac kywi or ITW fastmag and Esstac DST. No AR mags? Maybe 1?

For plate carrier, 4 AR mag, maybe 1 pistol, and hydration on back l

Anyone like kywis? Dive on them will Kydex break? How about diving on dirt and getting debris in them?

Something that won't get in the way while you try to draw mags/access gear on your belt. I currently rock an AWS belt and I'm thoroughly pleased with it. It's much more low profile than a battle belt you'd put over your regular belt. My chest rig is a chi com so while I can't comment on its use with a PC id assume it'd fit your needs.

Question for Anons. I'm looking into getting a cheap rig for running around in the wildy and firing off some rounds. I'm not really looking for a plate carrier, operator thing as much as a utilitarian thing. I'm really leaning towards the old ALICE rigs they used to issue

The main thing is choosing pouches that hang low rather than mount high.
And pouches that go on the carrier you'll want to mount high rather than low, otherwise you'll have interference.

>>34700195
I like KYWIs a lot. I only use one though because they're expensive. It goes on my line one battle belt as my fast reload pouch. All other mag pouches are just shingles with bungee.

Those are solid for people on a budget. Throw in a Chicom and you've got a decent poorfag gear setup. 2L of water, 6 rifle mags. Just needs an IFAK of some sort.

Of course if you want to go more modern you can build off of something like this:

you should be able to build a useful belt for less then $50. also i prefer the m1956 h harness to the y harness but some people feel the opposite. so you should test out the one that comes from with the basic kit and see if you like it comfort wise.
>>
>>34700679

also there are a mix of era's you can get alice gear pieces from.

the later buttpacks are larger and completely water proof. the later the buckle gets the easier it is to use but the more fragile it gets.

the h harness is more comfortable for me and it allows you to strap shit to your back in a stable way. alot of people do camel backs.

np man. one great thing about alice gear is that it's cheap and widely available and it's still quality gear. you can modify it to be really good.

another option for the straps is you can get the harness from the 90s that has mag pouches. it turns the rig into more of a bttle jacket
>>
>>34700800
From my understanding you can just attach an H or a Y harness to the pistol belt correct? I'm seeing the harness's up for sale for 7 bucks so I figure I can try both for a good fit or customise like you said.

you can also modify the gear to make it more comfortable and quiet

>>34700837
yes they have different sizes and they are a bit adjustable. basically everyone wears the regular size and its what always comes with the package

i like both. everything from vietnam until like 2005 is cash.

>>34700849
>>34700855
yes, they make some really cheap and light weight suspenders for molle belts that will make it more comfortable to wear for a long time.
>>
>>34700849
They do, but do you really want to distribute the load from a part of your body that's designed for bearing loads, to ome that isn't, if you don't have to?

ILBV's are top notch, the molle FLC's they were replaced with just arent on the same level.

on that note, i happen to have some TA-50 gear that was unsigned for, specifically an iba, and i was thinking of getting this to bring it up to date, and wearing one of those old ILBV's over it (ucp is trash) - http://www.beezcombatsystems.com/BCS-OTV-LBAV-BCS-OTV-LBAV.htm

So your IFAK should be accessible with both hands right? Why not put it in the front like in pic related?

Because you might be laying down, and I'd rather have my IFAK on the side or behind me, than a bullet up my ass.

Your IFAK doesn't need to be easily accessible to you. Ideally, you should have someone there to use it on you, and you don't use your own on someone else.

they are pretty lit desu. I've used them at an airshit game and on a few camping trips. There is a "special forces" version that costs a big more that apparently makes less of a swishing noise and is lighter. but i haven't really noticed those things being problems.

i have gotten more use out of the pant then the jacket because the jacket is fuck huge. I wear large regular bdus and the medium pants i got fit over mutiple layers of pants.

The RTI mounts are my favorite holster system. You can by RTI mounts for chest rigs, belts, paddle holster, drop leg, etc. I currently use a safariland ALS holster with a G-code RTI adapter which lets me interface with the RTI wheel mount as shown. Very fast to attach or detach so swapping holsters is extremely convenient or moving holsters from a belt to a RTI wheel in a vehicle or chest rig, etc.
>>
>>34703857
so i put wheels on stuff then adapters on my holster?
>>
>>34703880

Yup, pretty much. You can also put RTI adapters on mag pouches and have quick change capability on a belt or chest rig if you wanna get fancy with it.

copy paste from a thread i just made: I need some input. Either I buy a pair of peltor comtac iii with dual comms for some 400ish dollars for it's hearing protection or a gen 4 glock 19. Which one should I pick? I was thinking more the comtacs because the hearing protection it offers, as well as the radio integration, and it's audio amplification. The glock is obviously very tempting...I have an AR without any real good hearing pro, so the comtacs would fill that void + I would be able to use them for other things. Like the radio part of it. Are the Comtacs even worth buying for it's audio capabilities? As in, are they better than those Impact Sports I've used before? Sorry for the paragraph, I just don't want to regret this purchase.

Glocks aren't very fun to shoot, and you've already got the AR for HD, so upgrading to high-tier earpro is a sound decision.

Get a pistol first. You can skate by on some cheap ear pro like Surefire EP's or Howard Leight's until you have the cash for Comtacs. Then you can invest in a can so you don't have to wear earpro.

so at the really low end of cost but with great quality is the morakniv line. You can get a mora for as little at $10 and they have more expensive models with different blade steel and handles.

i have heard people say good things about the gerber stronghold

kabar knives are high quality but they really less idea for camp shit and more geared towards stabbing shit and cutting stuff up.

what you want out of a bushcraft knife is a thick spine with no serrations and full tang. preferably with a scandi grind blade.

benchmade has a knife called the bushcrafter 162

helle has a knife called Utvaer
>>

Ukraine, I probably can buy Esee 4 on Ebay or somewhere else, but it will to prove that it's not a melee weapon for customs. We have law that says that knife will be considered melee weapon if it's blade is 90 mm or longer AND 2.6 mm thick AND Blade sharpening angle is less than 30 deg AND 50 hrc of hardness, but the last word from police exprert and if he will say that it's melee than I will need to get special permission for that.

literally the only reason i carry a 4 on my body armor is that the 6 is uncomfortable. when i am backpacking i would rather have a esee 6.

the 5 is even more of a "weapon" then the 4 it's got a beveled edge on both sides of the blade to make it easier to stab shit with it.

if you can buy a 5 or a 6 then buy them. ESEE has the best warranty of any company and their blades are cheap and good.

That would be my basic IFAK on my PC, in my pack I already have an IFAK with double that plus chest seals and hemostatic agents.
>>

I keep a second C-A-T TQ on my chest rig. It's in a pocket directly behind my IFAK and it sticks out just enough to grab quickly for easy access.

The setup you posted is good but I'd keep a second TQ out on your rig somewhere for easy access.

A JPC is $250, and 10x12 NIJ IV standalone triple curve SAPIs are $230 ea. at bulletproofme.com
It would've eaten your entire budget, but it would have been a much better start to your /gq/ adventure than steel plates, an "amazing" (for the money) carrier, and one or two pair of Field Pants.

gun, mags, cargo shorts are good enough to start, honestly. Look online, check out local range websites and gun stores for links.

I went to my first run-n-gun competition with:
>saiga 7.62x39 with monte carlo stock
>a bunch of 10 rounders
>a small back pack worn backwards to hold my mags
>>
Whats the /k/onsensus on the Spartan Armor 550 swimmers cut package? Worth or should I just buy plates and carrier separately?
>>
>>34717245
Oh, and it cost $20. There was a fancy shmancy invitational that was $90 for two loooong courses of fire and prizes like a g43 and steel targets.

Have some shirts and pouches from them. Not digging the materials on the shirts but pouches are fine.

Build quality is good to go, if you see something you want get it. I would rather have arcteryx when it comes to jackets or pants but thats just personal preference.

Arent their only stores in SF? rip.
Arcteryx and fjallraven can be had for cheaper than online prices in stores most of the time.

Offseason LEAF closeouts for arcteryx outlets put most stuff 50-80% off.

For front, back, left and right side plates together it is 260, the plates are NIJ level III+ rated legitimately and can take 6 rounds of real fuckin NATO to ~2900 fps.
I would take all of this with a grain of salt but they are a very reputable company

This, like WGWS has been saying in basically every thread for the past few weeks. Hesco 4400 ceramics are available for $130 a plate (Gideon Tactical).
If you can afford to spend a little more for multi curve another good budget option are HighCom 4SAS7, you can get multi curve shooters cut at a good price and HighCom basically always have coupon codes (as well as .mil discount) so they're even cheaper than the site says.

See pic related for a current coupon code, you might be able to find others if you search around.

Both 4SAS7 and 4S17 and Lv 4
4SAS7 is NIJ Standard 0101.04 (2005IR)
4S17 is NIJ Standard 0101.06
4S17 does not come in multi curve

Basically the 4SAS7 is certified to an older NIJ testing standard. Google the differences between the standards, A2Grip would be able to go into more detail on this that me.

Other than that the only other main relevant detail is the weights but you're on your own finding that info.
