VDV is adopting A-545 and A-762
Kalashnikov rekt
>>

Do they make it with botom rail or they hate foregrips?
>>
>>34696459
much dick

Source? I'm surprised anyone in RUF is touching anything new with Russias skint pocketmoney.
>>
>>34696459
Are these AEKs?
>>

not sure but i believe so
>>
>>34696713
yes and yes
>>
>>34696713
wiki says they are

>>34696706
Aren't weapons plants in Russia state owned? Like if they already have the rifles developed and tooling available, it's basically like your left hand paying your right hand, still gonna come out of your pocket and go back into your pocket right?
>>
>>34696713
Updated AEK's.
>>
>>34696831
Ishvesk is state owned. Not sure about any others.

Problem is, Russia can't even afford the raw materials to produce enough rifles to equip the entire VDV, much less the labor.
>>
>>34699208
yeah. The A-545 is just a cheaper alternative to the AK12 and it honestly does just as good.

Why specs love the VSK-94 because it's a cheaper Vintorez or Val.

Where'd you get that idea? Last I heard, no one was adopting anything except maybe pic related (probably in 2025 if not later). All the money went to buy Medvedev's new chateau.
>>
>>34696459
AK-12 and A-545 got cancelled way back in 2016. Just like AN-94, and AEK-971, and all the rest.

>VDV is adopting A-545 and A-762
sauce or that never happen
VDV are using AK-74M KM-AK

>>34700906
>AK-12 and A-545

they never cancel A-545
but they did cancel the real AK-12
>>
>>34701228
That's because that's pretty much what it is. They cancelled the original AK-12 with all its new features like receiver without mud induction holes, new fire selector and slide release, slapped some rails on an AK-74M and called it a day.
>>34701481
They cancelled it, de-facto. Technically they never cancelled AEK-971 or AN-94 either, but in actuality those rifles are gone.
>>
>>34701649
the new AK-12 just finish state test this june
it was not cancel
>>
>>34701649

A-545? No they didn't
Degtyarev won contracts for SOF and Ratnik
>>
>>34701668
>>34701672
Nobody won anything. The decision was made in 2016. They killed both A-545 and AK-12 (or put them on end of life care, if you prefer), called >>34700893 AK-12 like no one would notice, and that was that.

Izhevsk killed the AK-12, not the MOD

nobody killed the new A-545 yet
>>
>>34701681
>They killed both A-545
Source?
>>34701720
Yes they did AK is kill
>>
>>34701726
I've not seen an official confirmation that A-545 is kill, but based on the history of Russian assault rifle procurement, this is exactly what happened, they just didn't admit it yet.
A-545 and original AK-12 were supposed to compete for the title of the next standard issue rifle. Then the new "AK-12" came along, and it's obvious that's what's going to be adopted (if anything will, anyway). Most likely A-545 has lobbyists keeping it afloat nominally, hoping at least for some small contracts, but that won't happen. You don't see AN-94 or AEK-971 anywhere, except a museum.

Most are 51% state, 49% private.
There are private ones though- ex. Lobaev Arms.

AK-12 is just a designation for the next Kalashnikov arms product to enter wide service. It's the army designation not the company. The current version comes from the slightly older AK-400 prototype, while the more advanced version, often shown besides the A-5,45 was AK-200 prototype, because despite the upgrades, the 200 offered no practical performance advantages over the 400. So no, they didn't just underhandedly plop a completely different rifle under the same name and hoped no body would notice. No, they instead officially plopped a marginally worse, but cheaper rifle for benefit of both them and the contractors.

Also the A-5,45 is the army designation for updated AEK-971 rifle, so it wasn't actually cancelled, not even unofficially, it was refined. The AN-94 had a limited production run, but practical application shown more faults with the system (it jammed often), so it was slowly discontinued from use and it's role was instead offered to the A-5,45.
>>
>>34702322
I'm amazed the AN-94 was ever actually used. What a silly gun.
>>
>>34702331
I don't think it was ever used outside of VDV firing ranges though. It really does jam a lot and test subjects ended up preferring the AEK.

>>
>>34702343
VDV are just regular line infantry with parachutes, they have the exact same equipment as motorized riflemen. No one in the Russian military have ever seen an AN-94, other than maybe group "A" (which uses cheaply modified AK-74Ms at the end of the day, anyway).
>>
>>34696459
Uuuh. it looks like an german HK got raped by an russian AK. History repeats itself, i guess.
>>
>>34702322
If you were Russian, you'd know that "marginally worse, but cheaper rifle" means "the cheapest junk we could slap together and then sell at double the price, and split the difference". In all likelihood, this new rifle will somehow be worse than AK-74. That's exactly what happened with PKP Pecheneg.
Anyway, none of this matters really; whatever they "adopt" or don't adopt will not be introduced into the actual line infantry brigades until twenty years later.

Find me one picture of it being used in an actual military operation and not on a prototype test range/parade.
>>
>>34702521
''Grade A'' units in the VDV do have a familiarization program with the rifle it seems. It popped up on a few recent military exercises, but it's not actually fielded, at least not in any meaningful quantities. For practical purposes it might as well not exist, but to say no one in the Russian military has ever seen it is like saying no one in the US military has ever seen the SCAR-H.

>>34702576
Equipment is always made by the lowest bidder. But in all honesty, what actual advantage for your average Russian conscript do you think the 200 model has over the 400? It's better by a small margin, and if Russia was an all professional force with a reliable budget it might've gone for the AK-200, but there was no point in teaching conscripts (who will, far most likely continue to use the AK-74M and AKS-74 for another decade after the new rifle get's fielded) any new tricks.
>>
>>34702677
I don't know what you mean by "Grade A" VDV. If you mean like the 45th Separate Regiment, it is not in any way indicative of the other 99% of the VDV. Most of these VDV units are in terrible condition (like any conscript unit), their soldiers are lucky if they get to shoot anything at all during their service.

no you cann't find that pic that way

>>
>>34702717
I'm sorry, I was under an impression Russian Army still used the old Soviet ABC unit doctrine. Basically ''grade A'' units are the best trained and best equipped units intended to break through the enemies line, while B and C units gush through the created opening and break down the defensive line. A units being akin to special forces or special application units, B units being paid soldier and C units being fashioned of conscripts.

I said it had limited production and that it never left the range have I not? I didn't claim it was widely fielded, but it was technically (in the strictest sense), fielded to the units.

this ak-12/15 is based on the ak400.
