Any of you summer fags actually buying anything?

Pic related. Norinco "cowboy companion". 16.5" barrel, no bayo lug or cutout, and has a scope rail on the receiver.

$250, it still had cosmoline all over it.

Can't say I've ever heard of the cowboy companion, is that something norinco still sells just for the Canadian market? Is the barrel threaded in or pinned?

Bought a M&P shield 9mm not too long ago. Was also during the $75 rebate that was being given with every purchase of one.

So far so good, feels good even in my big hands with the extended mag, but i havent gotten as much time to practice with it as i'd want.

I want to get around to buying AR parts sometime soon.

It is a 39 and yeah I'll get some gt from sgammo soon.

>>34695835
Apparently a company called navy arms in NJ used to work over paratroopers this way upon import. Doubt you can get em even in leaf land.

But they are definitely a thing.
>>
>>34695964
Correction, it's a 39-2
>>
>>34695964
350 doesn't seem bad.
I was at a gun show a couple of months ago, and was eyeing this beautiful 39. It had nice walnut wood grips, and the bluing was spectacular. Guy was asking 800 for it though.
>>
This summer I bought the following

- 1p63 Obzor
- HK Mark 23
- DSA SA58 Standard Rifle (Not the pigdisgusting Voyager)
- Schmidt Rubin K-31
- Enfield No4 Mk1
- 1950 TGF Kar98k. Unmatching bolt and war time stock but Idgaf looks awesome

I plan on buying on the FN Military Collector M16A4 soon, but ammo and magazines come first.

Yes the slide release is stiff. I've read it is supposed to stay that way, and you dont just drop the slide. doing that may eventually wear down the catch and cause the slide lock to bust later on. Not a huge deal.

This, but you can use that really porous nature of the metalwork to your advantage: rub a bunch of heavy machine grease into all the metal, making sure you fill those pores up really nicely, then wipe it off til it feels dry to the touch.

Now your 870 won't rust.

>>
>>34696272

Is it an actual 1891 year production or just a M1891? Because you got a good deal either way if the guns original, but a fucking steal if it's a pre-98 antique.

>>34696317

You can still get a lot of them in that range. I picked up a parts one and I've got ~$60 in it right now. Grabbed a 1918 Terni a few months ago (M1891) factory refurb'd with star stock stamp for $175. Even has the cleaning rod. If I were to sell it I think I could get upwards of $350-400 if I got lucky, but no plans to sell it yet.

>yfw had been in some guy's gun safe for 50+ years and his son had the LGS put it on consignment, and I couldn't even shoot it when I first took it home because I couldn't chamber a round due to cosmoline in the bore.

Anyway, recent acquisitions for the month of July:

>Winchester 1897 made in 1906 - $200 OTD
>EIG .38 snub nose - $85 OTD
>Charter Arms Target Bulldog in .357 - $99.99+tax
>Carcano 1941 project gun - ~$60
>Springfield/Stevens single shot .22 - $50
>Hi-Point C9 - $75 OTD
>Sears 44DL (Marlin 57) - $125 OTD
>Rohm RG 10 - $60 OTD
>Another Rohm RG 10 - $25 OTD (needed a few parts which cost me ~$20 and it's working now)

Last three were at a gun show a few weeks ago; one Rohm from a dealer, other two were private sale purchases. Carcano was from Gunbroker, first three from my LGS, the rest from different pawn shops. I travel a lot.

I bought a Jimenez JA .22 just a couple weeks ago. Not so much because I wanted it, although it's not a bad little gun so far, but because the old lady that sold it to me was gonna shoot herself with it by accident. When she showed it to me, she had a round in the barrel, ready to go, and safety off bouncing around in her purse. Sorry for the stock image, don't really have a camera right now.

Oh! simple, just rotate the bolt up and pull back. If the gun is already loaded you can just put the bolt forward but if it's not you aught to put some clips in there then push the bolt closed. After that all you gotta do is point it and pull the trigger. Hope this helps! :^)

Picked this up on Friday. The P220ST is the best .45acp handgun ever made.

This one is a fair condition LEO trade-in made in 2002 or 2003. New recoil spring, hex grip screws and a grayguns guide rod already on the way.

On SKSs without bayonets, how do the cleaning rods stay in? The bayonet acts as a point of tension on the cleaning rod which prevents it from moving, so if you pull that off, does your clenaing rod just rattle around in it's socket? Or do they thread the end and have it screw in like on a nugget?

ordered one along with the gayssele trigger set when i was drunk out of my mind and decided to cancel the MDR pre order.
Surprisingly, it's not a bad rifle. A tad bit heavy (and obviously costly), but the overall rifle feels very solid and shoots well enough. I haven't had a chance to accuracy test it since i was away on vacation, but the friend i lent it to who zeroed it shot ~1.9 moa with imi match and 2.4 with black hill.
overall, it was my best drunk purchases i've done in my life, even if it's made by the joos
