Folding stock is for mechanized pussies and collapsible stock is for manlets.
FIXED STOCK MASTER RACE
Fixed stocks MP5 looks so much better than folding/collapsible that it's stunning
>>34692449
Am fixed stock, but not classic a2 style or whatever is in OP pic.
Pic is my rifle with stock. Also observe comfy pajama pants.
>>34692492
pls tell mag was free
adjustable and folding stocks are popular so i
HATE them
Fixed stocks also allow you to mortar a stuck round or buttstock striking someone in the face without fear of breaking the stock as there is no locking mechanism.
>>34692449
what about folding tho
>>34692620
That's not really an issue.
>>34692492
I've got that same stock, but I'm a retard and ripped the foam so I wrapped the buffertube in paracord.
Why are A2 stocks so expensive? seems like they should be cheap considering how many were produced for the military and economy of scale and all. look at m4 barrels ans carbine hand guards for example.
>>34692620
You can do that on a collapsible or folding as long as it's not cheap shit.
Collapsible faggot here. Looking to reform and get a classic A2 stock. Do I need any tools to remove the buffer tube?
>>34692741
i have seen the buffer tube receiver section crack at the shoulder from mortaring
>>34692748
So...not an issue unique to foldables or collapsibles. k.
>>34692747
castle nut wrench look to see if your is staked you might need to drill it out
>>34692755
less likely on fixed it distributes the force at the pistol grip more than the folding stock
>>34692449
>Can't make an adjustable out of wood
>Believe me, I looked
>>34692620
As long as you don't have a faggy $20 Amazon special stock or something that's obviously sacrificing structural bulk for weight loss like an MFT Minimalist, you can mortar a collapsible stock just fine.
Collapsible/folding is better in every single way. There's no reason to ever buy fixed unless you are poor and cannot afford the slight price difference in which case you should be making better financial decisions than buying guns.
So far the best reasoning for fixed stock being better is by being able to be used as a bat.
>You pull out your fixed bat
>I bend my folding stock 90 degrees
>You charge me
>I throw my rifle at you
>"Haha you fool, you missed! What will you do n-"
>BAM
>you are knocked out cold from my boomerang rifle

But if you always keep the stock at the extended position why not just switch to rifle buffer/fixed stock? I've switched from collapsible to fixed stocks for rigidity and consistent lop. If someone shorter has to use my rifle they can blade their stance and deal with it.

>>34692888
This makes me slightly uneasy
>>34693423
Move that sight forward, faggot!
>>34693192
>But if you always keep the stock at the extended position
You don't...
>>34693423
Or they've used its better predecessor that provides a markedly better experience if you're in anything thicker than a t-shirt.
>>34693542
Normies do this all the time. They only use it fully extended and collapse it for storage.
>>34693557
If you collapse it for storage you're already seeing an advantage of the collapsible stock, on top of the others. What normies opt to do is their problem. It's not my problem normies still have railed gas blocks, for example.

That's not a particularly bad choice, honestly. The foam on mine began to split from the back after a few years, so I just used some duct tape on it to keep it from progressing lol.

I've heard the a2 is made out of stronger material but the a1 length is perfect for my micromanlet self.
Love the look of the A2 stock, and I often debate swapping one onto my current AR, but then I think why not just use it as an excuse to start my second and go for A4-gery
>>34693797
It probably is stronger (the A2 handguards sure as fuck are), but desu I've never really been able to think of a scenario where an A1 stock would break while an A2 wouldn't.
Ive always found the most comfort and convinience from fixed stocks.
still want to buy KAC for this colt a4
>>34693797
You can still find colt cs stocks for under $200. It's an A1 made from a2 materials.
I dig my UBR stock. Its been mortered before and dropped several times. Zero wobble.
Not sure about the gen 2s though.
>>34693396
It's a range toy. It shoots, functions properly, is accurate, and is fun. If every single AR you own is high-speed-low-drag, you may very well have some sort of compulsive disorder. Go be autistic elsewhere.

>>34692793
who makes the bottem rifes handguard or do i gotta make it
>>34694424
In case you don't know who makes it, it's an ACE brand 'wire' stock. Though as I mentioned to someone else, the foam bit that fits over the buffer tube, while fairly sturdy, will eventually begin to split at either end. I fixed mine up by simply wrapping duct tape around the rear, where it began to split to prevent it from splitting any further.
But yeah, decent stock. I got mine because I wanted one a little longer than what my rifle came with.
>>34696832
