Only time I've used NVGs/peq 15 was for like 20 minutes one time in basic. It was fun but not really enough to develop any kind of useful familiarity.

NVG's are a pretty big investment and if at max you'd be pulling them out once a year then I wouldnt recommend dropping nearly 3 to 4k on some. Anything less than PVS7 with true gen 3 tube is worse than having nothing, you should really get a PVS14 instead, also really only useful if you have private land or a 10/10 dream range that allows shooting at night.

Probably not worth it, now that AR pistol case law is established. I actually built a pistol after my SBR because pistols can be used to hunt in the shotgun zone, and SBRs can't because they count as a rifle, and pistols can be carried loaded in your car in urban areas and SBRs can't since they are technically rifles. Plain Jane SBRs are therefore less useful to me than a pistol, and I would not buy one again unless it was a sexy sexy replica gun.

I'm getting myself a PVS-14 for Christmas this year, even though it's legally equivalent to spotlighting deer if you play with guns and NVGs at the same time, where I live.

I have a DPMS Oracle with a flat top and a picatinny on top of the gas block and i'm too retarded to get a straightedge and measure the difference in height between the gas block rail and the reciever rails. All i want is to put on iron sights, preferably flip up ones. Can i get a tall front sight that'll mount to the rail, or will i have to get/make a riser? would it just be cheaper to get a standard front sight gas block? i would just do that but i do really want flippy irons so i can use optics. I dont wanna go freefloat because its expensive and accuracy is a meme.

trijicon. i used a sightmark from bass pro i got for like $100 and it honestly works fine. Probably isnt as durable but it held zero after hundreds of rounds and is just as bright as my bros eotech. I forget which model but it has a green as well as red reticle, and a lever that swaps through a bunch of different reticle patterns. breddy nice for $100. sightmark makes a lot of pretty decent low end optics.
