Where my Fw-189 Owls at?
Anyone have pic of 190D-9 actually in flight?
Thoughts?
>>34692014
Looks good and they could have built it (see >>34691869) but that late in the war they didn't have enough fuel anyway, were bombed - so they had to concentrate on fighter production and the intended use as "Amerikabomber" would have been suicidal anyway.
Pic related is the best project that was never built.
Was it feasible?

>No need for conventional fuel, enough coal was available
>Very fast
>Could fly well
>Small, so easy and cheap to produce
>Engine tests in Nazi Germany and flight tests in the US were successful
Only downside I see would be that if it was actually used as ramjet pilot casualties would probably be high, something unsustainable for Germany.

It was designed as a 355.6 mm recoilless rifle to be used against Royal Navy ships, however it could only hold one shot and was quite heavy. While not actually used in combat, there were experiments to see if the Gerat 104 could be mounted to the fuselage of a Do-217 or Ju-288 fast bomber, as seen in the picture.

Wouldn't a air-dropped torpedo be more efficient and economical?
>>34690725
Fuck yes. So much this.

German engineering, my friend. If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing, then overdoing again.
(And lying about.)
