.357 out of a 16" barrel can hit ~2000fps. with a 125gr pill that ain't too shabby. In fact it's almost perfect but another 200-400 fps is really where it's at.

Wew, best I can recommend is something in a caliber that isn't banned. I wouldn't be surprised if they made ARs in .243 Winchester or some other similar fudd round. .221 Remington should be legal to own. It's about the same other than differences in twist rates and what not (And it's probably harder to find in the US). Knowing Mexico and other countries that can't own military cartridges, it should be more common there

Get something in a calibre that's suitable for a homemade SMG.
