Post your arguably over-priced german space magic guns here.
Starting with best USP. Thinking about going from V1 to LEM trigger, anyone here have experience with it? I got to fondle a HK45 with one and it was pretty neat.

LEM is arguably the best defensive / LEO "Street" trigger configuration.

They are awesome due to the long smooth pull, but to maximize your performance you have to shoot it with a continuous incremental pressure.

You can't stage it when it firms up and then rapidly pull through the break, otherwise it will bite you in the ass and you'll see errant shots.

I ordered the VP9 tactical today from PSA for $550 today. Seemed like a good deal with the night sights and threaded barrel.

I have a trust set up and want to get a suppressor. I think it deserves it. Would like to not have to change the sights though.

correct

HKs are built for NATO spec loads - a new mainspring will be too strong for standard pressure, give it around 1,000 rounds or rck the slide at night, or buy a cse of NATO spec.

The general consensus I've seen is that they are made around and test fired with NATO spec 124gr. Typical US bulk 115gr may be a little on the wimpy side to be completely reliable while the gun is all fresh and new. I've personally never had issues with any ammo out of my guns.

LEM can be described differently by different folks, in the end you just gotta try it and experiment with all the techniques.

For me - I still stage the first shot like an ultra light da but generally just rep the trigger 10 yards and inside, 15 and out I will stage every shot.

Is it new? It might need a break in. Have you cleaned and lubed the gun correctly? It could be possible the rounds are too weak to cycle the action. If that's the case, get a weaker spring if you plan to shoot a lot of tulammo.

HKfags, is the USP .45 Tactical worth the extera money over the basic model? I'm not really interested in supressors ATM, but the match trigger being built in seems pretty nice and being supressor-ready if the SHUSH act passes seems like a decent bonus, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money.
>>
>>34697002
Very subjective question, why do you mainly want it?

If it's just to have a USP 45 get the base model

If you want to range toy to wow the crowd with get the tactical (match trigger is sexxxx)

If you want to practice gun fighting look at something in LEM 9mm or vp9

I like the cut of your jib

I just think it's a bit much to tell that guy a usp tactical is only a range toy.
It's hard if not nearly impossible to conceal that monster but it really has no life threatening faults.
I will concede my bias as I have had my usp for 6 years and with all the time I have into it I don't see the vp9 for example as being that much better that I would switch to one.

I think it's like $750ish for a full and $780 for compacts last I checked.

I guess I could get a p2000 since $600 is about the top I'd want to spend for a pistol, but it kinda looks cheap due to the slide stops. I'd probably like the grip more on the p2000 though.

I was placing my order when the grey market $600ish new usp compacts showed up at classic sold out and I wasn't pleased.

The other german meme pistol I want shows up once every 2000000 years, so I am kinda fucked pistol wise. I kinda want a CZ but idk if I want to spend $600 on a p-01

It's fine as a non-SBR.

You likely won't find anyone capable of cutting+threading the ultra thin barrel. Without threading, you can't secure the barrel inside the shroud.

Your options are to get a hk416 pistol barrel, which means calling umarex (= walther arms) weekly for a couple months until they finally have a spare, or just buying the hk416 pistol and tossing it after yanking out the barrel.

I say this as someone with a form 1 that got approved back in march.

First was a V1 in .40 that I bought right after Sandy Hook when 9mm was unobtainable, gave that to my dad because he loved it and he gave me the money for a V3 in 9mm and I shot the crap out of it, then I sold that one and bought my current P30L V1 during the first day of HK's $200 mail in rebate a few years back for like $650

I carried the .40 V1 for a while then went on to carry the 9mm V3 for a little bit but decided I wanted something different to carry, and that's why I got the P30L because why not get the full size I'm not carrying the compact anymore

>>
>>34708578
The issue was not having enough mags, one 16 and one 12 doesn't give me a lot of wiggle room on a 25 round count stage, for comparison I had five 16 round CZ mags on me for each stage.
2nd place beat me by just under 2 seconds so I definitely could have just cleaned up a couple of runs and been good. Shooting again on the 5th, hopefully I can find my mags, if not it's no big deal to use the 9mm again, might run my S&W revolver too since you're allowed multiple guns if you pay the fee.

We had a guy shooting the match with a S&W Shield 9 lol, that is the peak of carry comp.

I'd have at least three spare mags on you with a fourth in the gun, that's just for Steel Challenge though. I carry four spares and one in the gun in case of malfunctions but it's overkill.
You only shoot five targets at a time on the click, so speed reloads shouldn't be an issue, one mag in your carry position for oh shit malfunction or 'I missed 17 times' reloads and two in a back pocket for reloading between runs is fine.

The stages are really well designed, I have fun with every single one. Some of tgem are deceptively easy too, like smoke and hope, they trick you into going too fast for your abilities.

Failure to feed, I got an absolute shit grip on the gun out of the holster and didn't have time to correct it. My grip was so low my pinky was hanging off the mag baseplate. Pretty sure it acted like limp wristing and caused the malfunction, got my hand up the backstrap when I cleared the round.

>>34708959
>it's just not in the position I'm accustomed to
Reah, don't sweat it, speed reloads aren't a big deal in steel challenge.

My draw is my second biggest limiting factor, after planning target order, on placing 1st right now. (Goal is buzzer to first hit in 0.85 or less) I'm glad it's improving enough to be noticeable!
>>
>>34709177
>after planning target order

That shit is going to kill me, I'm such a space case I have to focus on the "order" or "game" and it hurts the raw fundamentals.

>improving enough to be noticeable!

Looked really smooth and consistent - now I know ivideo never captures the imperfect grip and micro issues that punish so much but - yeah looks like it's right where you want it in terms of presentation in isolation.

Yeah not a fan of 1911 in 9mm, though I do have a 10 round magazine limit. That being said, I've HEARD 96A1 magazines work in 92FS/A1 pistols, and work with 9mm, which means a 10 round 96A1 mag can hold 14 or so rounds of 9mm.
I do like the 92FS best aesthetically, and I think I'd go the FS over the A1 as I don't intend to use a light on it (but I do like the dovetail front sights on the A1).

In Australia, we can't really use our weapons for self defence. I'd imagine you could only use it in the most extreme circumstances i.e. home invasion with the home invader having weapons capable of death or grievous bodily harm.
Then you'd have to justify to a jury why you had your weapon out of the safe, or how you managed to get it out of the safe in time (I don't think it'd be too hard to do that, just say you saw them coming, and saw they had a weapon).
Secondly you'd have to justify that you didn't have the firearm with intent to use it as a weapon, so I think the presence of a weapon light would imply intent to use as a weapon as it would serve no other sporting purpose.

So that's why I don't want a light on it, I'd rather just hold a torch

As far as the sights, Wilson Combat make a fibre optic front sight, and a rear sight as well. They look pretty good.
The 92 Brigadier models have no light rail BUT have a dovetail sight, but few holsters are compatible with the brigadier as it has a slightly larger slide. Can't have it all :(

I'd count them, the ATF does.
What do you own?

A full-size M&P 40, a gen 3 G19, gen 4 G19, CZ 75, Sig Mk25, the HK P30, Beretta PX4 Storm.

AR pistols are hobbled together, mostly Aero and BCM parts with Geissele rails. Got a 300 BLK one with a form 1 suppressor on it. Waiting on my tax stamps, gotta call tomorrow to check on them.

Traded a Shield 9mm and CZ P07 for the HK.

How is the P30 halfway to a carry gun? Nothing H&K makes is small, even the P7, a gun that could easily be made subcompact, is the size of a larger compact.

The other day someone was talking about suppressors and their wear on the gun, so I ask HK directly, this is what I got back for anyone curious.

> It is true that a suppressor does increase back pressure, but the recoil spring should be able to handle it depending on how much suppressor use. With out a suppressor we recommend changing the recoil spring every 10,000 rounds or so. It will be hard to tell if yours will need it sooner without the firearm being here but i would be inclined to believe that it would be sooner than that.

I want to (partially) take back the years of saying HK reps are faggots.
I just contacted our country's local HK reps (only established last year), they responded within the hour and were pretty nice about ordering some original HK parts for me to help remedy my POF MP5 clone's FTE problems.

However German HK reps are still niggers, the last time I approached them at IWA and brought up the possibility of releasing a full size SP5 and a semi MP7 in the future (in a very polite and civil fashion in case the very notion of a civilian owned MP7 hurts their fee fees which is often the case with German gun salesmen), they acted like I asked them about the possibility of having swastika-engraved grips custom-made out of the foreskins of gassed Jewish newborns.
