Anyone use one? I'd like to run one on a VP9 since they use the VP40 recoil spring.
Figure a brake might add some reliability with cheap steel cased.

>Figure a brake might add some reliability with cheap steel cased.
Enjoy not cycling.

Why?

Cheap steel cased is probably not the hottest ammo, so the slide won't be moving as fast as it could. Now you're sticking a device that reduces recoil by pulling on the barrel, therefore slowing the slide, therefore not cycling.
Guess why pistol suppressors often use boosters.
Race gun comps are usually coupled with a hot as fuck load and a weak recoil spring. I've seen some standard loads and regular recoil springs run with a comp that aimed the ports forward, reducing muzzle rise but not rearward recoil energy.

I was hearing some have baffles that increase pressure?

That would be a suppressor, and any boost would be offset by the weight on the barrel slowing down cycling even more.
You use a lighter recoil spring if you're shooting weak cheapshit ammo.

So I can't get a booster type effect from a comp?
>>34686516
Opposite concern. Was worried since its designed for a suppressor I'd want that pressure boost.

yeah, we know already

>be me, bad with pistols
>dad has a Hi Point .380 with a comp
>I can actually do pretty well with it
I'd say it can usually help, assuming no cycling issues. But hot ammo (especially if you handload) would handle that.

Can't argue with those digits.

>So I can't get a booster type effect from a comp?
No, most people run into issues where the comp slows down and weakens cycling and thus they need to use hotter ammo. If you're worried about your ammo not being hot enough then the only option is to switch to a lighter recoil spring.
Before you commit though, just oil your gun well and try it as is. It might surprise you.

"Optimized baffles for maximum performance and low noise from shooters position"
I guess that's where I got mislead. I assumed that meant there would be a pressure boost. But makes sense that it wouldn't be considering its only redirected.
It probably will shoot fine. And if not I'll make use of the warranty.
