I love a lot of ww1 weapons and equipment because of how bizarre they seem today. Nation's litrrally trying anything to break a stalemate.
Also the fact that old school csvarly with actual horses were used in a war with planes, tanks, and machine guns is pretty wild.

The trenches, forts, pillboxes, and fortified positions in general are my favorite pieces of engineering from the war.
Walking around the Alsace Front and Verdun was truly amazing.
