Yup. barracks parties all the time with as much alcohol that we could find. Every now and then duty would catch an under aged person drinking there and we'd have to lay off a while, but the drinking never stopped.

Only been to a bar off post once though. It was anout 120 dudes trying to bang 3 girls and dudes lining up to get their asses kicked by the bouncers. Never went out again.

Depends on where you're stationed. Had a friend who was a marine in afghanistan that didn't drink much and spent most of his time fighting. Had another friend in the army stationed on the norko border who was pretty much shitfaced 24/7.
