at least you caught it. Is was seconds from putting a.45acp into a squib stuck in the barrel where I did not powder, then seated a 230gr. scarry. Now I use trays and focus when powdering.

as a reloader, i doubt it will work reliably.
that is a shot cup wad that is designed to contain the lead charge during the shooting for various reasons (better patterns, less leading of the bore, etc) so it is safe to guess that it could protect the powder from the burning powder beneath.

also burning powder charges are quite strange, especially with shotguns. in short words, such a light load probably won't clog the barrel enough to build up pressure and sustain a proper combustion, probably leading to a big floooopy smokey dud.

but that's a theory i won't test
