Looking for something 12ga that can be used for HD. 3+ shots, and hopefully not ugly as shit? Ive seen the Maverick 88, but idk much about shotguns. It's sexy though
If you think that hunk of steel is cool looking, go for it Maverick 88's will run forever

personally, my budget shootgun is a Mossberg 500
Mine came with a longass hunting barrel but you can buy a shorter HD barrel for <150 bucks, and swapping them out is pretty easy
Sounds good, are they any other shotguns i should consider? Heres a pic of my doggo for your troubles

18 inch 6+1 maverick 88.
It's pretty much a mossberg 500 with a different safety and $100 less because "muh made in USA".
You get mossberg QC and customer service and a huge aftermarket since it uses most of the same parts as the 500.
If you can spend more for something nicer 590's and Benelli novas are really good.
Maverick 88, Stevens 320, and the H&R Pardner are all good for cheap, basic bitch guns.

>a huge aftermarket
I'd personally recommend just saving a little longer and getting the 500, if aftermarket is something you want to get into.
it's a big market now, it's probably faster to tell you what to avoid. Most of the really cheap Chinese models are trouble and some of the Turkish ones from the shittier companies will both fail on you and be impossible to warranty without significant cost relative to the purchase price.
budget Escort (Howa), Interstate Arms Company, ATI, Stevens (320), Iver Johnson, H&R, RIA. I'd probably add Chiappas to that list now since the C series has turned out so shoddy. The Maverick will work and has interchangeable parts with the 500 but it just felt so cheap to me that I went with a Cobra.
Also, the Winchester SXP is solid. Only goes for about $50 more than the Mav.
Mossberg 88 was my first gun, love it to death, would recommend
