Do US or other Allied Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan patrol with Pack Mules or other carrying beasts?
Armies throughout history have been using pack animals to increase the amount of weight they can bring / decrease the amount of weight the soldier must carry.
it's also a mobile warm obedient onahole

And if you have the stomach and teeth of a crocodile, a walking meal.

Cut a hole on its side and stitch it up, it becomes a literal drug mule.

It's still a thing but it depends on AO. Only be used if vehicles can't handle terrain.
The Marines have a mule packing coarse. It's at Bridgeport and often during winter, and it sucks balls apparently. My friend had to do it.
ODAs are still bumming around Afghanistan (and totally not Pakistan) on horseback
What are the advantages of a robotic mule over a living one
>>34671943
Almost none, the only issue with a live mule is that it also requires water, food and rest, but it probably cannot carry as much as a robot one.
Could be wrong thought as I never worked with robot mules but trained on iron sights.

You shut off a robot mule and it will sit there almost indefinitely. You can also it in put a storage container and they'll take up literally only their physical space. And if you're operating from a base, you don't have to ship anything additional besides the unit itself.
Logistical advantages mostly.
It potentially has physical advantages too, a 4 legged robot can walk with 3, it can carry more, etc. Honestly the reason why the Marines ditched it was just because they couldn't figure out a way to integrate it properly.

A mule can carry about 200lbs, the LSSS was required to carry 400 in its original spec. I assume it met it, but maybe not/

Mules, (+donkeys and horses to some extent) are cunts of animals that tend to kick, bite, do their own shit and will run off when the crap hits the fan.
That said, not entirely sure if robot donkey is likely to be any better when the battery geeks or you're trying to figure out what broke 100miles from anywhere resembling tech support

Why not just invent earpros for the horses and donkeys so they won't get scared?

your pic related is the only thing i know of. 10th mountain sustainment brigade used mules in ww1 and ww2 iirc. they are even to this day refered to as the "muleskinners." i think there was a mascot for them for the longest time, but i don't think that's the case nowadays.

In the Stan there are donkeys that will literally walk up and down mountains by themselves to resupply OPs. Wonderful critters.
