K-frames are wonderful. The 4" Model 19's are very well balanced.

I picked up this Walther P5 recently. I need to take some better photos of it outdoors or in the light box, though.

One and the same. I haven't got a good place to film anymore. If that changes I wouldn't mind making more similar to the old videos.

This Uberti Schofield is another recent addition. Now I'm contemplating a 7.5" SAA but I've already got a 5.5".

I'm considering filing a suppressor paper but I don't want to wait 6 months and tie up ~$1,000

fuck me help, k. i am a retard.
>bought p30sk
>have had it for 3 weeks give or take
>bought snap caps for practicing loading, cocking, shooting, ejecting, etc. on it
>never cleaned it, because the times i field stripped all looked well and lubed on it
>left for CA to bang a fat chick; left gun in its plastic hard case, with empty mages
>was gone like 4-5 days
>come back to humid FL
>magazine springs are rusted
>OH FUCK
>guide rod and guide rod spring lightly rusted
>panic
>dissemble gun
>have no actually gun cleaning supplies
>throw guide rod+springs in a big tube of olive oil
>waiting clp and ballistol + brushes
AM I FUCKED? should i take it out of the submerged olive oil? the cleaning supplies should be here on friday, also very little surface rust
>>
>>34671133
Should have used synthetic
>>
>>34671133
Just halt the corrosion as best you can. The new oxidized layer will act as a barrier for the guide rod, preventing it from getting worse, and springs are no big deal to replace.

This raises some questions though, the springs in my USP were all coated/treated, and I don't really see how they could be exposed to moisture. Was the gun you bought second hand? Were the springs not OEM? Are the p30 internals less well finished than the USP?
>>
>>34671150
listen if you tell me to go to walmart and get mobile 1 i will -- will olive oil last 1 more day give or take?
>>34671160
how can i halt the corrosion? what methods? this a brand new gun got it from a reputable and honest dealer.
>>
>>34671175
>how can i halt the corrosion?
CLP and gun oil.
>>
>>34671188
thank you sir i love you will do. i am worried about the olive oil will it last until friday or should i run and get engine oil?
>>
>>34671195
Take it out dude
You only need a thin film
Should be good for the next couple of weeks
>>
>>34671195
Neither olive oil nor motor oil are really designed to prevent corrosion. They will both lubricate things, but you aren't using this for lubricating things.
>>
>>34671133
you are really fucking stupid. that said. wait for the clp and mallistol. clean and wipe off the excess olive oil thoroughly. then wipe it some more. then apply clp. not too much; not too little. wait 5-10 mins. clean the gun again. then apply a small amount of clp -- start by cleaning with vinyl brush which i hope you bought. avoid using brass or copper, since the gun is new and never fired live rounds. apply a little more clp and wait again 5 mins or so. clean it with lint free cloth. apply mollistol just enough to lube crucial parts. put gun back together. make sure not to get oil in the firing pin area. sell gun to proper person. stop being a faggot.
>>
>>34671215
will it last until friday? should i go and just buy rem oil right now and wait on my parts?
>>
>>34671133
Motor oil and steel wool or a brass brush, it should be easy to remove the rust as its only been a few days.
Store your gun in a sealed container with a dehumidifier and replace (or recharge if applicable to your dehumidifier) the dehumidifier as necessary.

My dad has an older Llama. It is a steaming pile of shit. 4.5" bbl, 9mm, and jams every other round if you're lucky.

No, the B's are 9mm Parabellum. These are marked on the chamber hood 'Cal.08' - a reference to the German military's name for the 9x19mm Parabellum - Pistolenpatrone 1908.

Okay so by far the best thing I have ever found for making bluing look amazing AND protecting it is Renaissance wax. I can only find it online (amazon has it). Museums use it for armor and shit. It's unbelievable.

Buy some and I bet that Colt looks completely different. I used it on that 19 when it got home (I'm op) let me show you a before...

The shit is amazing man. It works wonders on bluing. I use it on stainless too though; keeps the fingerprints down
>>
>>34673021
Fingerprints drive me mad, this looks like a great solution. Nothing worse than cleaning and touching the slide on accident right after.

Do you use it on your carry piece/notice any issue with the wax in the holster? I imagine you're supposed to use so little it shouldn't really matter.

You wax and buff it off, shouldn't have more than a thin film when you are done. Carry is a shield I'm not waxing that disposable thing.

I keep this little mak in a leather holster since it doesn't have one. It doesn't seem to affect it at all; in fact I would think wax transferring to the holster only goes farther in keeping the gun from rubbing off the blue.

How fucking humid is Florida that a gun will just start rusting indoors? Do you not have central AC?

I live in middle Tennessee and I've never had a firearm develop rust.

Bruh I am in etn and Florida is nasty for the humidity.

That said, I have only ever seen a remington rust that quickly around here.

I bought my model 28 for 800 and it doesnt even have original grips

I kick myself alot for overpaying so much but I really enjoy having it so in the end I dont regret it.

So the wax strips the bluing???
>>

Yeah I was happy about it. I actually worked them down $25 but since it was out of state I had to have it shipped up here so there went my $25.

Still, that gun would sell for $700+ here in Knoxville in minutes.

West Georgia here. It's a daily fight against humidity. I have a farm truck that I keep an old shotgun in; doesn't leave the property. Every two days I have to wipe that fucker down and sometimes run steel wool across it. I swear on some days you could put a rifle out in the yard, sit on the porch, and watch that sumbitch rust right in front of you.
